Magaliesberg holidays

Magaliesburg is located on the north west boundary of Gauteng. With its charming farmhouses and rolling pastures, the agricultural village of Magaliesberg (pronounced ma-HAL-ees-berg), provides a picturesque base from which to explore the nearby mountain range and adjacent Hartebeespoort Dam areas. The surrounding farmland is dotted with battle sites from the Anglo-Boer war and the Ndebele chief Mzilikazi’s numerous bloody campaigns. Contemporary explorers will find it an extremely welcoming town with quaint accommodations and stunning scenery. The mountain range itself offers easy to medium trails; most lodges can arrange day or overnight hikes.
