South Africa’s flagship wildlife area, Kruger National Park is the size of Wales. It has 140 different mammal species, over 500 birds and a host of amphibian, reptile and plant species. It offers some of the country’s greatest wildlife viewing and sightings of the ‘Big Five’ – lion, leopard, elephant, rhino and buffalo – are common.
Unfenced edges border some of Africa’s finest private wildlife reserves, including Sabi Sands, Timbavati and Manyeleti. All of these reserves offer wonderful private lodge accommodation and a range of experiences from off-road game drives and predator tracking; to luxury spa treatments, fine bush dining and guided nature walks.
