Accommodation rating: Luxury
Since its inception in 1946, the Blue Train has become synonymous with style and luxury. By day, your private cabin is an elegant and relaxing haven with generous lounge chairs from which you can enjoy unparalleled views of Africa's scenery. As you dine in the evening, your cabin is transformed into a comfortable bedroom with beds folded down from the panelling and draped in soft eiderdown duvets and fine cotton linen. Each cabin has its own private bathroom finished in gold and Italian marble. A butler is also on hand to serve drinks and light snacks while you relax.
During the day, watch the ever-changing panoramas from the comfort of the classic lounge carriages. High tea is also served daily in the Lounge Car. Fine cuisine is served in the elegant dining car. The quality of cuisine aboard the Blue Train is exceptional and dishes include typical South African specialities. A selection of fine South African wines are available to complement each course.
