Located in the Sabi Sands bordering Kruger National Park, Sabi Sabi has provided one of the most luxurious safari experiences since 1979. It is a wildlife oasis, where lions, leopards, rhinos, buffaloes, elephants, cheetahs, wild dogs and 200 other animal species roam freely and it is also home to a remarkable 350 species of birds. Sabi Sabi is a one-hour flight or a five-hour scenic drive from Johannesburg. Alternatively, you can fly or drive from Kruger Mpumalanga International airport.
Originally built without electricity to preserve the quiet bush ambience, Selati Camp has now installed overhead fans and air conditioning as these are features expected in a luxury safari lodge. Designed in a colonial 'Out of Africa' style, Selati Lodge has eight thatched suites including the premier Ivory Presidential suite and the Loureno Marques suite, which is ideal for honeymooners or those on a romantic getaway.
Meals are served on wooden thatched decks that have been built alongside the Msuthlu riverbed, in the open-air boma or in the farmhouse kitchen. Day and evening safaris following the animals on and off-road in open Land Rovers, led by highly trained game rangers and qualified trackers are available, as are walking safaris, which allow guests to get closer to the plants and animals that are often missed when traversing the area by Land Rover.
