Strategically placed between the Kruger National Park and the Sabi Sand Wildtuin, Mala Mala is home to the largest concentrations of free roaming elephant, lion, rhino, leopard, buffalo, cheetah, and literally hundreds of other species of wild mammal and bird life. It is a 2 hour drive from Kruger Mpumalanga International Airport and a 5 and a half hour drive from Johannesburg. Federal Air also operates a twice-daily shuttle service between Johannesburg airport and Mala Mala. Rattrays Camp is the epitome of regal colonial safari-style and is the newest addition to the Mala Mala portfolio. Each of the eight suites has beautiful hand-selected furnishings, lavish his and hers bathrooms, a secluded outdoor shower and a private heated plunge pool. The camp facilities include a well-appointed library containing rare African books, a historic bar featuring photographs of the early days of this unique area, a fully stocked wine cellar with a selection of some of South Africa's finest wines, a small gym and a large infinity pool. Meals are served on a wooden safari deck, which can be an amazing game viewing experience in itself and a massage service is available on request. On arrival visitors are allocated a professional and qualified game ranger who will take care of every aspect of their stay and share an in-depth knowledge of the wild Africa. Game drives will be in open 4-wheel drive vehicles with a maximum of 6 guests per vehicle, guided by a highly qualified and experienced game ranger and tracker.
