Falaza Game Park feels pleasantly remote thanks to the proximity of the Greater St Lucia Wetlands Park, but easy access means that it also remains a decent centrally located base from which self-drivers can explore further afield to Hluhuluwe Imfolozi Game Reserve.
Set on a small private game reserve and backing onto the sand forests of the Mzinene river, this pleasant higher-end lodge offers accommodation in 15 tented rooms. Each tent is comfortably furnished with tiled floors, en suite shower and toilet, and a sun deck. There is a restaurant, bar, pool and spa, all set in shady gardens. The thatched main lodge has a restaurant where a hearty five-course dinner can be enjoyed, while breakfast is served on the sun deck in the peaceful surroundings of the indigenous garden. Meals are also served in the grass-walled boma, under the stars. Light lunches and picnic baskets are prepared on request. There is also a spa offering a selection of specialised treatments.
A privately owned wildlife park bordering the Greater St. Lucia Wetland Park and close to Hluhluwe town, Falaza overlooks Lake St. Lucia's False Bay and is centrally located for some of South Africa's major wildlife reserves.
Falaza offers a choice of exhilarating safari experiences on foot, by vehicle or on water as it has its own, small, privately owned game park. Here, activities include day and night wildlife drives, walking safaris and boat cruises. Animals on the reserve include giraffes, buffaloes, wildebeest, blesbucks, red duikers, sunis, nyalas, aarthogs and other African wildlife species.
