Accommodation rating: Luxury

Bisate Lodge opened in July 2017, adjacent to the renowned Volcanoes National Park in Rwanda. Comprising just six spacious forest villas, this is the epitome of luxury to grace Rwanda to date. Gorilla conservation is at the heart of everything they do at Bisate, alongside a pioneering indigenous reforestation project with the ultimate aim to be incorporated into the spectacular park. Each villa comprises a generous yet intimate combination of bedroom, reception area and bathroom, all warmed by a central fireplace and with breathtaking views out across a private deck towards Mount Bisoke. Bisate is within easy driving distance of Park Headquarters, from where gorilla treks depart daily. Its vision of reforestation and rehabilitation means that each guest is invited to participate in these conservation efforts, as well as to meet and engage with the local community, while enjoying a life-changing experience viewing the endangered mountain gorilla. Features: 6 forest suites, lounge, bar, community and conservation involvement, gorilla trekking, visit Dian Fossey's grave and research centre. Room amenities: Private decks, indoor shower, bath, double vanity basin, heated towel rail, fireplace, tea and coffee station, electronic safe, mini-bar, Wi-Fi, multi plug adaptor charging facilities.
