The Okavango is one of the world’s largest deltas, comprising an intricate network of channels and lagoons that are fringed with papyrus reeds and dotted with charming little islands. In this pristine landscape, there is a strong sense of just how serene the wilderness can be. The wetland provides excellent wildlife viewing year-round, but it’s the scenery itself that can be so utterly beguiling.
The delicate ecosystems of the Okavango Delta support a dizzying array of flora and fauna. Hundreds of bird species proliferate here, as well as the rich aquatic life that populates the delta’s crystal-clear waters. There are also vast numbers of large mammals including elephants, hippos, giraffes and rhinoceroses.
Our hand-picked selection of accommodation in the Okavango place you in ideal locations to encounter the wildlife and appreciate the serenity. On a bespoke safari you can experience a fun and educational excursion alongside two orphaned elephants, offering you a deeply memorable chance to learn about these majestic animals and their rehabilitation.
