On the banks of the Obias river, Hoanib Valley Camp is in remote north-western Namibia, near Sesfontein. This stylish, intimate camp is eco-friendly and strives to leave as little imprint on its surroundings as possible. The camp is entirely solar powered. The tented suites offer refined comfort amidst the desert plains and all the wood is made from 70% recycled wood and bamboo composite. From here you can go on nature walks, wildlife drives, looking for desert-adapted lions, elephants, rhino, giraffes and more. Keen bird watchers have a great chance of spotting rare lesser seen Monteiro's hornbill, Ruppell's korhaans and the Verreaux's eagle. You can spend a full day with the resident researchers pioneering giraffe conservation. Cultural experiences with the local Herero people are also possible.
