NamibRand Nature Reserve, one of Southern Africa’s largest private nature reserves, originated as a dream of extending the desert frontiers through the integration of a large number of former sheep farms. The aim was to develop a sanctuary free of fences, so that the wildlife could once again roam their habitat unhindered. Today NamibRand, which is located just south of Sossusvlei, is synonymous with some of Africa’s most breathtaking locations. The special attraction of the reserve is the diversity of desert landscapes

"The tour was very well conducted by Malcolm Glaser, our tour guide and Charlie his driver - Malcolm could not do enough for us to ensure that we enjoyed ourselves therefore making the tour a great success.
Mr Trevor Bold
"Difficult to choose between the tracking and finding of desert elephants in Damaraland, and the safari drive in Erindi, where we saw a host of different animals and witnessed a kill (two cheetahs on a springbok). Both expeditions were enhanced by the jeep drivers who showed enthusiasm, persistence and knowledge.

"The entire Ethiopian experience, coffee making in a small hut, sitting with Gelada baboons in the Simian Mountains, the churches of Lalibela, and the exciting participation in Timkat was an experience not to be missed.
Mrs Suzanne Vincent"

"We are experienced travellers and always looking for something a little different. We thought Ethiopia Odyssey was beyond our expectations and to see so many different Unesco World Heritage Sites in one holiday was exceptional. The wildlife content was unexpected and to see so many different types during such a short holiday was surprising. Would recommend Cox & Kings to others and congratulate them for putting together our holiday - the literature and the tour manager were first class.
Mr David King"
"Our whole trip went very smoothly , everything was perfect in Zanzibar. Well done and many thanks!!
"The tours to the battlefields and the guides themselves were brilliant.
Mr Gordon Carter"
"Seeing so many animals in their natural surroundings and our guides ability to spot wildlife and his knowledge of the animals and plants we saw. The private journey was well worth the extra cost because our guide got to know what we wanted to see and did his best to find the things that were most interesting to us.
Mrs Christine Crouch"
"The landscapes of Namibia were more than I had imagined and the people so friendly. All your hotels and lodges were perfect but you left the best till last - The Africat Foundation! This was a truly memorable experience and I hope you keep it in your tours for others to enjoy. Once again, many thanks for a wonderful holiday. We will certainly use Cox and Kings again!
"I would like to thank the travel advisor, Jonathan Fitzsimmonds for his patience, help and advice during the booking process. We were rather late in trying to arrange everything and I think we presented him with quite a challenge! He rose to it brilliantly. Almost every aspect of the holiday went like clockwork and we had a wonderful time. I think we were quite lucky to get an experienced driver too. His depth of knowledge of the wildlife, and in particular the birds, was invaluable. All in all, a fantastic holiday and we hope to return to Uganda in the not too distant future.
Mrs Lorraine Gardner"
"Thank you for your efforts in organising a superb holiday for us in the Western Cape. The arrangements were excellent, the hotels were of an impressive standard, and the trip overall was hugely successful.
Mr and Mrs Mick"
"The knowledge of our safari ranger and tracker was amazing. To see the animals at such close range, yet in a natural surrounding was unbelievable. We saw a lioness stalk and kill her prey which was sad yet incredible, after all it is what happens for their survival. The elephant drinking out of our plunge pool outside our lodge was the icing on the cake. The food and menus at the Great Fish River Lodge was excellent. I cannot fault the accommodation, food, or the staff they were fabulous.
Mrs Margaret Lambelle"
"Every day I thought 'it couldn't get better than this' - but it did.
