Accommodation rating: Luxury

Shipwreck Lodge is the only lodge in the Skeleton Coast National Park, and its remote location offers serene isolation in a beautiful area. The lodge takes its name and design influence from shipwrecks that have been strewn along the rugged coastline, with the defined architecture making use of the spectacular views across the Atlantic. Wildlife drives are offered daily to try and spot the elusive desert dwelling elephant and the only viable lion populations outside of Etosha National Park. Activities also include the opportunity to visit the Suiderkus and Karimona shipwreck nearby, visits to the Clay Castles in 4x4 vehicles, dune climbing to watch the sunsets and visits to the Hoanib river delta. Features: 8 Solar powered cabins and 2 family tented rooms, restaurant, lounge, large open deck. Room amenities: Private bathrooms, small deck, wood burning fire, tea & coffee station.
