Located on a hill at the foot of Amber Mountain National Park, and overlooking Joffreville, the Litchi Tree is a colonial style boutique hotel. Originally built in 1902 as the home of Marshal Joffre, it was restored to its former glory in 2007 by a young Frenchman. The original stable blocks have been converted into five guest rooms, each with tasteful décor, and elegant furnishings that have been hand-made by local craftsmen. In the main house are the dining area, lounge, a small library and a fully sotcked bar. The French owner, who is also the head chef, serves a menu of French and local dishes. All staff at the Litchi Tree are local to Joffreville, ensuring that all guests receive authentic local hospitality.
