Lake Naivasha Country Club’s history dates back to the 1930s, when it was used as a staging post for a flying boat service from Durban to Dublin. The club has retained its colonial architecture and has expanded to spread over more than 20 hectares of manicured lawns and mature trees. Guestrooms are bright and spacious, and offer views of the lawns and wild beyond. Facilities include an outdoor swimming pool, a fitness centre and a spa. Guests can take game drives in Hell’s Gate National Park (named for the intense geothermal activity within its boundaries) and nature walks through Crescent Island, a private game sanctuary home to zebras, wildebeest, gazelles and waterbucks. Other activities include boat rides on Lake Naivasha and early-morning bird walks on the club grounds.
