This morning, take a private guided tour of Victoria Falls. As well as a chance to see this natural wonder of the world up close, you will gain insight into the falls’ creation and geology, the surrounding rainforest eco-system, the daring exploits of colonial explorers, and local legends about ‘The Smoke that Thunders’. Visit the Elephant Walk shopping centre and art village for a special behind-the-scenes visit to Ndau Studio, where you will meet its local artists and craftsmen. This design house specialises in the creation of leather accessories as well as sterling silver and bead jewellery. Lunch at the lauded Lookout Café and spend the rest of your day at leisure. Cross the border and spend your afternoon at leisure, before driving into Chobe National Park on a classic safari drive. Chobe was Botswana’s first national park, and is celebrated for the diversity of its wildlife. Overnight at Chobe Safari Lodge (or similar). (B, L, D)Day 6: Chobe National Park
Alongside your fellow travellers, spend the next 2 days taking advantage of the myriad activities on offer at Chobe. A short flight this morning delivers you onto the banks of Botswana’s mighty Okavango Delta. With its expansive floodplains, lush forests and prolific game, this is the jewel in the crown for many visitors. Arrive in the afternoon for a thrilling water safari experience. You’ve another full day of wonderful wildlife watching ahead of you. Should water levels permit (typically late June to late September), cruise along the delta waters by mokoro, a traditional dug-out canoe that offers a different vantage point for witnessing life along the river. After a final safari drive this morning, travel to Maun for a transfer to Johannesburg. Here you catch your departure flight, landing in the UK early the next morning. Alternatively, extend your stay with an adventure in the Kalahari Desert or a city break in Cape Town. (B)Day 11: Arrive in London

Ilala Lodge is ideally situated close to Victoria Falls as well as the town centre. The Zambezi National Park borders the front of the property and wild animals often graze on the hotel lawns with the spray of the falls in the background. Each of the 30 rooms is spacious and equipped with a satellite television, air conditioning, and coffee and tea-making equipment. Each has an en suite bathroom with both a bath and shower. The impressive swimming pool has a large wooden sundeck overlooking the national park and is a welcome oasis from the bustling town of Victoria Falls. The Palm restaurant offers both European and African cuisine and is an ideal place to dine alfresco under the stars. The lodge can organise numerous activities in and around Victoria Falls and has its own exclusive cruise boat, the Ra-Ikane, with daily excursions (payable locally) along the Zambezi river.
Mopiri sits on the western bank of the vast and idyllic Weboro Lagoon, in the heart of the Okavango Delta. Its tranquil island surrounds offer some incredible nature experiences; depending on the time of year, guests may spot hippopotamus, elephants and sitatungas (rare swamp-dwelling antelopes). Accommodation is in seven luxury rooms and three family suites, all generously spaced out and connected to the main guest area by long, winding boardwalks. The rooms are spacious and airy, with king-size beds and large private decks. Private bathrooms are connected to the bedrooms by a short corridor, offering views across the lagoon. Mopiri - which means 'little island' in the local Bayei language - is surrounded by crystal-clear delta water on all sides, so activities here focus on the water. Guests can take boat trips through winding channels of papyrus, and glide serenely through the shallower waters in a mokoro (dug-out canoe). A swimming pool ...
