Mombo Camp is situated just off the northwestern tip of Chief's Island, within the Moremi Reserve. Sometimes it is an island on its own and sometimes it is linked to Chief’s Island as the ebb and flow of the Delta’s waters constantly modify the area. Mombo provides excellent game viewing opportunities as elephant, buffalo, lion, leopard, and cheetah are found in the region. A large pack of wild dogs sometimes frequents the area around the camp. Bird life is prolific with waterfowl and waders being particularly common. Beneath huge trees on the edge of a broad floodplain there are ten tented rooms. Each tent has private en-suite facilities and solar-powered lights. The dining room, lounge and bar are under thatch on a raised teak deck overlooking the floodplain and there is a plunge pool to cool off in during the heat of the day. Early morning and late afternoon game drives are in open 4x4 vehicles. Alternatively, you may opt to go on an interesting and educational foot trail with an experienced guide.
