Cox & Kings hosted an exclusive evening on 20th March at the Estorick Collection of Modern Italian Art in partnership with the tourist boards of Turin and the Langhe e Roero region. The evening highlighted the Arts & Culture tour: Turin Art & Aperitivos, Slow Food and Truffles.
Talks by Veronica Rossi from Turismo Torino and Emanuela Montenaro from Langhe and Roero tourism brought this beautiful region to life for an audience of over 100 guests. Claudia Zanardi introduced guests to the Estorick Collection of Modern Italian Art, which began as a private collection and has developed into a lively gallery set in an elegant Georgian house. Artist Stephen Nelson curated a recent exhibition here on Arte Povera (Poor Art): Italian Influences, British Responses, an art movement from Turin. Stephen engaged the audience with a talk about modern Italian art and the tour he will be leading to Turin.
Guests were welcomed with food and wines from the Langhe e Roero region of northern Italy. A chef from a local Piedmontese restaurant carefully sliced salami, including one made with the famous Barolo wine. Veronica and Emanuela also supplied regional cheeses and crisp grissini – Italian breadsticks from Turin.
The evening ended with a glass of sparking Moscato dessert wine served in typical coupe glasses and accompanied by the delicious Turinese gianduiotti chocolates made from local hazelnuts.

We did make the event on Turin (as evidenced by my husband in one of the photos!) and thoroughly enjoyed it. Thank you for the invitation.
