Go solo… with Cox & Kings
Cox & Kings’ Solo Travellers group tours provide the perfect opportunity to discover some of the world’s most inspiring destinations in the company of like-minded people. You don’t have to worry about paying a single supplement, a poky single room, booking transport and tickets or about your security as you will be looked after at each step along the way.
No single supplement
These small group tours have been created especially for single travellers, so they provide single occupancy of double or twin room as a standard. The hotels are chosen based on their reasonable prices for one person, their prime location and character.
At Cox & Kings we know that experiences make your holiday. We craft the signature experiences for each of our group tours to provide you with enduring memories; whether it’s watching the sun rise on a balloon ride over the Pagan temples in Burma, seeing Machu Picchu in all its glory or learning to cook local cuisine.
“It was an absolutely amazing holiday. The unplanned moments were the most special. Being able to participate in a festival in Udaipur will never fail to bring a smile to my face. India lived up to all my expectations and more.” – Pamela Ball travelled on Exotic India

Those that join Cox & Kings’ solo group tour generally have many mutual interests, first of all, the desire to travel and learn about local cultures. These interests help forge bonds as you enjoy unforgettable experiences together. We organise welcome and farewell meals, and often some others, which offers you a good balance between organised meals and freedom to choose where you would like to dine and who with.
The group sizes tend to be between eight and 15, with a maximum of 18. This means that the guides are audible, less time is spent waiting for others and you don’t feel too intrusive. What’s more, it’s not necessary to stay in large, characterless hotels, eat in uninspired restaurants or be ferried around aboard a giant coach.
“I was overwhelmed with the sunrise visit to the Taj Mahal – just breathtaking. The itinerary was good with visits to fantastic temples, palaces, forts, etc. I was also delighted to become friends with the 6 other ladies travelling on the tour; we all got on like a house on fire! The local guide, Ashish, was excellent. He had such a depth of knowledge and passion about his country and its history and he made the holiday”. – Carol Graham travelled on Exotic India

"This was the best organised, best led, most exciting holiday I have ever been on." – Thomas Fargher
All group tours with more than six passengers have a UK airport rep to assist with departures. If you need help checking-in or finding the correct terminal, they can help you. A phone number will be included in your pre-departure notes.
Local tour managers
Local tour managers will be awaiting your arrival in your destination. They then accompany the group, offering support, whether it’s adding on optional excursions, there is a problem with your room, restaurant recommendations or you just want a translator to help you have interactions with locals. With their advice you won’t be making any embarrassing faux-pas’, over cultural differences such as clothing, tipping or gestures.
Expert local guides
A good guide can make your holiday. We work with the best local guides so that they don’t leave questions unanswered and give you an in-depth knowledge to your surroundings, from the endemic wildlife to local flora and fauna and the country’s history and culture.
“It would be difficult to highlight one specific event, but my pleasure derives from seeing so many animals. Our driver worked hard to show us as many as he could find. The driver made the trip interesting and informative. He was a very friendly man who went the extra mile.” – Janet Seaton
“I would especially like to thank our tour guide, Yaduvendra Singh for his absolutely excellent guiding and all the extra information and conversations about life in India. He made a real positive difference to the trip and his obvious enthusiasm for showing us his country added hugely to our experience”. – Helena Fox travelled on Exotic India
While you travel you will have the support of the tour manager, your entrance tickets have already been paid for and you don’t need to worry about losing them, all the transport is already organised as well so nor do you need to think twice about pesky taxi drivers!
Cox & Kings’ holidays are both ABTA & ATOL protected so you can rest assured that you are fully protected.
