Things to do in Poland

When planning a holiday to Poland, the two destinations not to be missed are Warsaw and Krakow, both of which have numerous historical and cultural attractions. The average length of stay in the capital is two days, and a longer time should be allowed for Krakow. Apart from Krakow’s Unesco-listed historic city centre, there are also a number of nearby places of interest including the Wieliczka salt mine and Auschwitz concentration camp, both of which can be visited on day excursions. Travelling between the two cities is easy via the fast and frequent rail service.

In the west of Poland, the cities of Wroclaw and Poznan are excellent examples of restored medieval towns, following the destruction wreaked by the second world war. In the north, on the Baltic coast, is the up-and-coming city break destination of Gdansk.
