Things to do in Israel & the OPT

For pilgrims, history buffs, and curious travellers, the things to do in Israel are numerous – and most are inimitable.

Jerusalem has maintained a central place in history for over 3,000 years. Israelites, Babylonians, Persians, Greeks, Romans, Christians, Muslims and Turks have all ruled the city at one time or another and have left their mark in the form of synagogues, churches, mosques, minarets and shrines. Explore significant religious and biblical sites from the Wailing Wall to Temple Mount, Dome of the Rock to the City of David, and many, many more.

Explore other biblical sites including Bethlehem, Nazareth – described as the home of Jesus in the New Testament – and the Sea of Galilee where Jesus began his ministry. As the largest freshwater lake in the country, the Sea of Galilee also provides and opportunity to relax, as does the famous Dead Sea.

Tel Aviv is the second largest city in Israel and is a buzzing, modern metropolis that also features the Uneso world heritage site of the ‘White City’, with fascinating examples of Bauhaus architecture. Haifa, the third largest city, has been settled for more than 3,000 years, and is home to the immaculate Baha'i World Centre.

Acre and Eilat are both coastal cities that provide opportunities to combine ancient remnants with relaxing by the shores.
