Spend the day driving along the Icefield Parkway to Banff. En route, stop off and board an Ice Explorer – a large all-terrain vehicle – on to the Athabasca glacier, where you can step out on to the ice and absorb its enormity. You can also stand on the Glacier Skywalk, a curved glass walkway stretching 30 metres in to mid-air.
