Day 1: Fly to Balmaceda • Rio Tranquilo

Fly to Balmaceda and pick up your hire car. Continue through the Patagonian steppe to forests and lakes to Rio Tranquilo and stay overnight. (B)

Days 2-3: Caleta Tortel

Follow the mighty Rio Baker to picturesque Caleta Tortel, built on stilts between the two Patagonian ice fields. Stay 2 nights and stroll along wooden walkways or explore the surrounding channels and islands. (B)

Days 4-5: Chacabuco Valley • Lake General Carrera

Return to giant Lake General Carrera visiting the Chacabuco Valley en route. Stay 2 nights overlooking the lake. Relax by its shores or discover ancient lenga forests, petrified fossils and glaciers. (B)

Days 6-7: Balmaceda • Coyhaique

Take an optional boat ride to the spectacular Marble Cathedral to see intricate caverns filled with turquoise waters before continuing to Coyhaique for a final night. Drive back to the airport for your return flight. (B)
