Amid the lush order of Lutyens' Delhi, just minutes from the grandeur of Rashtrapati Bhavan and the peaceful Lodhi gardens, The Lodhi (previously Aman New Delhi) provides one of the world's most colourful and cosmopolitan capital cities with a tranquil new retreat. Offering essential respite in spacious surrounds, this city-based resort provides guests with the ultimate in comfort, as well as an ideal base from which to explore the city's wealth of historical, cultural and contemporary attractions.
Rooms and suites at The Lodhi are designed with a contemporary flair, drawing their aesthetic references from local materials as well as the architecture and design of the region. Khareda stone quarried in northern India has been chosen for all the floors and is complemented by handmade rugs. Rich dark timber panels are accentuated by discreet lighting, while traditional jaali screens adorn building terraces and exteriors
The Lodhi features four food and beverage outlets including two restaurants that offer an eclectic range of cuisines and food to choose from, a poolside cafe and a night club.
The spa features eight private treatment rooms, a hair and beauty salon, two traditional hammam steam baths and bamboo garden relaxation areas. Each treatment room is fully-equipped with a private shower, steam room, bathtub and daybed. An extensive spa menu features luxurious spa treatments for both ladies and gentlemen.
The lap pool is overlooked by the pool bar. Here, informal seating is set beneath a colonnade that runs along the edge of the 50-metre pool. Light Indian snacks and continental fare is served.
The Health Centre is set in a sunken courtyard that is a focal point for fitness and recreational activities with three tennis courts, two squash courts, a pilates studio and a gym. Professional instructors can offer personalised guidance for all levels of experience.
