Situated in the heart of the old Jedaideh quarter, the Martini Dar Zamaria is a few steps from some of the city's main attractions and a 10-minute walk from the old market, the souk and the citadel. It is also close to many souvenir shops, traditional silverware and jewellery shops, museums, religious sites and countless restaurants and bars. Due to its location in the old city, this property can only be reached on foot and it is approximately five minutes' walk from the nearest car access point.
Named after the Zamaria family, who have lived here since the early 18th century, this beautiful Islamic courtyard house exhibits the splendour of 17th-century ottoman architecture. It consists of three properties, two of which are interconnected, and offers 49 rooms all set around three courtyards. All rooms have a private bathroom and are equipped with air conditioning, a satellite television, hairdryer and minibar. Due to the traditional architecture and design of the property, please note that rooms may have small interior facing windows.
The original courtyard and halls have been lovingly converted to offer resting areas and two restaurants. The courtyard restaurant is open all year, while the rooftop restaurant, with magnificent views of the citadel, is open during the summer season. Delightful Middle Eastern food is a speciality although western cuisine is also served. Alcohol is available in the restaurants and the bar offers a variety of regional and international beverages and wines.
