Little Mombo, part of the wider Mombo Camp, is situated just off the north-western tip of Chief's Island, within the Moremi Reserve. Sometimes it is an island on its own and sometimes it is linked to Chief's Island, as the ebb and flow of the delta's waters constantly modify the area. Mombo provides excellent wildlife viewing opportunities as elephants, buffalos, lions, leopards, and cheetahs are found in the region. Birdlife is prolific, with waterfowl and waders being particularly common. Beneath huge trees on the edge of a broad floodplain there are three tented rooms. Each tent has private en suite facilities and solar-powered lights. Connected to the main camp via a raised boardwalk, the dining room, lounge and bar are under thatch on a raised teak deck overlooking the floodplain and there is a plunge pool to cool off in during the heat of the day. Early morning and late afternoon wildlife drives are in open 4x4 vehicles. Alternatively, you may opt to go on an educational foot trail with an experienced guide.
