Kyukamura National Park Resort Village is one of a national network of lodgings found across the country, operated by a foundation supported by the Ministry of the Environment. These were established to provide good quality but affordable accommodation for Japanese families and are mostly found in national parks and other areas of outstanding natural beauty. The resort is located half-way up Mount Haguro, and offers both Japanese and western-style rooms and amenities. There is a small restaurant here that specialises in 'shoujin ryori' Buddhist cuisine, which contains no meat or fish as well as no salt and pepper. Features: 39 rooms, restaurant, tea room, gift shop. Room amenities: En suite toilet (shower room is separate), air conditioning, kettle, green tea set, television.
