Founded in 1614 and formerly called the Motoyu Hot Springs, Kansuiro Ryokan has enjoyed an illustrious history and played host to many dignitaries and celebrities throughout the ages. The 4-storey wooden builidng, rebuilt from its original plan many times, has been designated a heritage building and is registered as a prized Cultural Property of Japan. The ryokan features traditional Japanese rooms where seasonal Kaiseki dinner and breakfast will be served and the futons are laid out for guests for the night. There are several onsen experiences available to guests including the Iwa Buro, a rock-lined hot spring bath with beautiful mosaic tiles, the Roten Buro, an open-air bathroom with views of the Hayakawa river, and 2 private onsens which can be individually rented.
