Frans Indongo Lodge is a charming, intimate lodge modelled on a traditional Ovambo homestead. Beautiful natural building materials including stone, wood and reed were used in the building and items of daily use in Ovambo such as earthen pots, storage baskets and original wooden figures all serve as decoration to give this lodge a truly African feel. The lodge is surrounded by lush gardens with a lapa from which you can enjoy a sundowner drink overlooking the beautiful thorn bush savannah. These gardens attract the Shaft-tailed Whydah, the crimson-breasted shrike, the pied barget and many other birds. The 170km2 farm has a variety of game, including white and black rhino, black wildebeest, the rare nyala, black springbok, white blesbok, sable, roan antelope and hartebeest.
Optional activities at the lodge include bird watching, nature drives, guided walks (including a day trip to the Waterberg Plateau) and half-day visits to the nearby Cheetah Conservation Fund.
Features: 12 rooms/chalets, including 2 family units, restaurant, swimming pool, lapa (thatched roof supported by wooden poles), bar and veranda with views of the watering hole.
Room amenities: Television, air conditioning, mini bar, telephone, hairdryer, tea and coffee making facilities.
