The Catalonia Berna hotel lies in a listed 19th-century building in the heart of Barcelona's Eixample district, renowned for its striking modernista architecture and the designer boutiques of the Passeig de Gracia. The building was one of the first to be built in the district and is unique for its facade wall paintings by renowned Italian artist Raffaelo Beltramini who specialised in decorative painting and scenography throughout Barcelona during the Modernisme period.
Inside, the hotel has a distinctly modern feel; the 124 rooms furnished with parquet flooring and marble bathrooms. All rooms are en suite and feature air conditioning, complementary wireless internet access and a satellite television. The Les Finestres de Llúria restaurant serves Mediterranean cuisine and the adjacent bar is a great place to relax after a day's sightseeing.
