Accommodation rating: Superior
Located on a 56-hectare peninsula and only accessible via the sea or by air, Biras Creek is one of the remotest luxury resorts in the Caribbean. The hotel is set among three distinct bodies of water with the main buildings looking out over the grand lagoon, part of the North Sound, a tranquil Caribbean beach ideal for swimming and an Atlantic-facing cove where waves pound the beach. The resort has 31 suites set in cottages along Bercher's bay; six of the suites are set slightly further back and have garden views. The rooms, although air conditioned, can also be opened up to catch the sea breezes. Other facilities include iHome players and outdoor showers. There are two Grand suites towards the end of the bay, which also offer private plunge pools.
The resort's main restaurant is located in the castle-like main building, with commanding views out over the ocean. It serves a mixture of local and international cuisine, while the bar next door is ideal for sundowners. There is also the Fat Virgin Café, located by the lagoon, which serves simple meals throughout the day from the waterside decking. Other facilities include the use of lit tennis courts, guided snorkel trips, use of bicycles (each suite has two provided), an extensive spa and activities such as yoga. There is also a series of nature trails to walk as well as sailing day trips to other islands.
