Accommodation rating: Superior

Once Francis Ford Coppola's home whilst he wrote the script for Tetro, the Be Jardin Escondido is located in the trendy Palermo Soho district, known for its art galleries, cafés, restaurants and boutiques. The hotel reflects its name (which translates as 'hidden garden'), providing a leafy oasis from the city with bountiful plants, herbs and colourful flowers throughout the interior and in the pretty courtyard garden. The property is filled with original artwork and pottery, tiled floors, stylish fabrics and antique furniture, all of which are echoed in the décor of the seven guestrooms. These are each named after members of the Coppola family and are individually and elegantly decorated with hand-woven rugs and alpaca blankets. While there is no restaurant, breakfast is served in the lounge and there is a 'parilla' (barbecue grill) in the garden for guests' use. There are also plenty of alternative dining options within walking distance. Features: 7 rooms, swimming pool, terrace, lounge, library. Room amenities: Television, hairdryer, minibar, safe, Wi-Fi.
