Has Cox & Kings won awards?
We are very pleased to have won a number of awards over the years, including the prestigious British Travel Awards. Visit our awards page for a full list of our accolades.
How does Cox & Kings promote responsible travel?
As well as using local tour guides to ensure your money stays in the community, we also support Abercrombie & Kent Philanthropy (AKP) who work with grassroots projects in destinations that we travel to.
In the itinerary what does (B, L, D) mean?
The key (B, L, D) is often used at the end of each day on our itineraries to indicate the meals that are provided. B stands for Breakfast, L for Lunch and D for Dinner. N means no meals are provided on that day. What is the maximum group size on Cox & Kings small group tours?
We offer a genuinely small group tour experience with an average of just 14 guests. The maximum number of guests is 18, and minimum 10.
What are Cox & Kings Signature Experiences?
Our Signature Experiences are added to our tours as ways to explore destinations in depth. Due to our expertise we can arrange these exceptional experiences for our clients which reveal hidden gems and cultural secrets, outside the realms of other operators.
What is a Discovery tour?
Most Cox & Kings tours are based on 4- and 5-star accommodation, or the best available. However, in some countries with a developing tourism infrastructure, some of the accommodation can be quite basic, and some of the road journeys may be longer and rougher. While Discovery tours can be very rewarding, they are typically suited to the more adventurous-spirited traveller.
What is a non-exclusive escorted group tour?
The vast majority of our group tours are exclusive to Cox & Kings clients. However, there are a few exceptions where holidaymakers who booked their tour with another travel company travel in the group.
Do your prices include flights?
All prices for Cox & Kings holidays include international flights, except where indicated. Australasia and Canada holidays do not include international flights so that you may benefit from the best prices at the time you choose to book, taking advantage of major seasonal variations and short term special offers. For all destinations, you may be able to arrange your own flights. If you wish to do so, the cost will be deducted from the tour price. Why do I have to pay more for my holiday if I am a single traveller?
Most hotels around the world charge more per person for a single occupancy room than for a shared twin room, because the cost of maintaining a room for one person can be almost as high as it is for two. In addition, many single occupancy rooms are the same as twin / double rooms. However, our first three places on most of our small group tours are offered with no single supplement. The Solo Travellers collection of small group tours is specially created to include accommodation based on single occupancy of twin / double rooms without single supplements. We have sought out good quality hotels that offer the most reasonable prices for individual travellers.Solo Travellers collection >What is the difference between a 'single' supplement and 'sole' supplement?
A 'single' traveller is someone occupying a single room while travelling with one or more other people, for example a single person travelling on a group tour. A 'sole' traveller is someone travelling on their own.As a single traveller on our most popular group tours, the first three places usually have no single supplement. After these places are filled you will need to check the cost of the single supplement. Travellers on our dedicated Solo Travellers tours will never have to pay a supplement. If you wish to add an extension to that tour, please then check the sole supplement price for that extensionWhat is 'Dynamic Pricing'?
Cox & Kings adopts a dynamic pricing policy for escorted group tours. This means that the prices for each departure date of each tour are regularly reviewed and they may be adjusted upwards or downwards from time to time, due to changes in costs or other commercial factors. When there are discounted prices available for particular departures of the tour, we display the date at which the prices will next be reviewed. After that date, the prices for those departures may go up, down or remain the same. For private travel, we display ‘guideline prices’ to give an idea of what you can expect the tour to cost in the high and low seasons. We will prepare an accurate quote for a specific departure date at the time of enquiry. Are Cox & Kings holidays value for money?
We are confident that our holidays represent excellent value for money. We will always include as much as possible with flights, hotels and ground services at highly competitive rates, but without sacrificing the quality of service.

The FCO website provides travel information for many countries around the world which includes advice on safety and security, entry requirements and health, as well as general information. Cox & Kings strongly recommends that you, and everyone on your booking, visit the FCO website and read the advice about the country you are planning to visit prior to booking.
