Arriving at the Shamwari Game Reserve was the high point of the holiday. Luxurious accommodation in a superb location. Great service, food and game drives combined to make a truly one-off experience.
Mrs Janice McGlashon
Difficult to choose between the tracking and finding of desert elephants in Damaraland, and the safari drive in Erindi, where we saw a host of different animals and witnessed a kill (two cheetahs on a springbok). Both expeditions were enhanced by the jeep drivers who showed enthusiasm, persistence and knowledge.
Ms Sarah Dearman
Every day I thought 'it couldn't get better than this' - but it did.
Mrs Jane Knight
The scenery was amazing throughout the tour, but the two main sights for us were St. Georges cruciform rock church and the Blue Nile falls. Both truly amazing.
Mr David Eyres
The tour was very well conducted by Malcolm Glaser, our tour guide and Charlie his driver - Malcolm could not do enough for us to ensure that we enjoyed ourselves therefore making the tour a great success.
Mr Trevor Bold
[What was inspirational was ] the sheer range of experiences from the vibrant city of Cape Town to the vistas of the wineries around Franschhoek and Stellendosch and the drive through the mountains to Sanbona in the Little Karroo. Seeing white rhino and elephants at sunset and then the amazing fynbos at Grootbos near Walker Bay. Every day brought something new and fresh.
Mrs Lindsey Riley
A belated thank you so much for the arrangements you made for our recent trip to South Africa. We thoroughly enjoyed every minute of our holiday.
Mr Riley
A good holiday which provided an excellent introduction to Madagascar, in a short space of time. The holiday was well planned, which meant that I was able to see a lot in one week. The tour manager was really excellent - one of the best tour managers I have had on a holiday of this kind.
Mr Sweeny
Although the rock churches of Lalibela were particularly impressive, it was the overall balance of sights that impressed us: the stelae of Axum and the castles of Gondar plus the magnificence of the Simien Mountains and Lake Tana.
Mr Roger Darlington
An excellent itinerary. Transfers were seamless.
Mr and Mrs Johnson
An excellent itinerary. Transfers were seemless.
Mr and Mrs. Johnson
As this was our first tour of this nature, we only had our own expectations and this tour surpassed them all. The tour guide’s knowledge was excellent and helped to add to the enjoyment of our holiday.
Mr Douglas and Barbara
Ethiopia is an absolutely fascinating country - one which fully deserves to be known better. The infrastructure details were accurately described in your brochure, and any shortcomings were made up with the richness of historical culture offered to us. Thank you for a brilliant holiday.
Mr & Mrs Sheppee
I think Victoria Falls and then Bumi Hills resort were, without doubt, the highlights of the trip - which was a really fabulous trip.
Mr Steven Wigg
I would like to thank the travel advisor, Jonathan Fitzsimmonds for his patience, help and advice during the booking process. We were rather late in trying to arrange everything and I think we presented him with quite a challenge! He rose to it brilliantly. Almost every aspect of the holiday went like clockwork and we had a wonderful time. I think we were quite lucky to get an experienced driver too. His depth of knowledge of the wildlife, and in particular the birds, was invaluable. All in all, a fantastic holiday and we hope to return to Uganda in the not too distant future.
Mrs Lorraine Gardner
Many thanks for arranging a brilliant itinerary in Namibia – we had an extraordinary time.
Ms Iles
My husband and I both thought the tour was excellent - very well thought out and executed - but John made the trip for us. I would rate him as one of the best tour leaders I have ever encountered - and I state that after travelling widely and frequently for over 40 years. John worked continuously in the most conscientious manner. Nothing was ever too much trouble and he took a huge pride in his work. John definitely added a quality and enjoyment factor to our travelling experience. I hope this young man has a great future in tourism - he is certainly a credit to your company. Our driver was very good, too. I was enchanted by the beauty of the landscape and would love to return to Madagascar sometime in the future. Thank you for show-casing this beautiful island in such a great way.
Mrs Jeanette Ruberry
Our holiday was wonderful! The whole safari flowed smoothly from one exciting adventure to another. It was brilliant! We would like to thank Cox & Kings for delivering the perfect experience. We really feel we had excellent value for money. I will always recommend Cox & Kings, we are now your biggest fans.
Barbara Yowerth
Our whole trip went very smoothly , everything was perfect in Zanzibar. Well done and many thanks!!
Mr Zolotas
Our whole trip went very smoothly, everything was perfect both in Uganda and Zanzibar. Well done Cox & Kings and many thanks !!
Mr Zolotas
Seeing animals unique to Madagascar in their natural environment and able to photograph them as they fed and interacted with each other [was inspirational]. The tour guide, Tokey, had an amazing knowledge of all of the wildlife, plants - latin names included - and the history of the country and its people and customs.
Mr Ian Culley
Seeing so many animals in their natural surroundings and our guides ability to spot wildlife and his knowledge of the animals and plants we saw. The private journey was well worth the extra cost because our guide got to know what we wanted to see and did his best to find the things that were most interesting to us.
Mrs Christine Crouch
Seeing two leopards up the same tree with a kill was a magical moment!
Mrs Deborah Godfrey
Thank you for your efforts in organising a superb holiday for us in the Western Cape. The arrangements were excellent, the hotels were of an impressive standard, and the trip overall was hugely successful.
Mr and Mrs Mick
The acommodation and game drive arrangements were first class and the ranger went out of his way to get us in the best positions to view the wildlife and his knowledge was amazing. At Isandwhana and Rorkes Drift the resident historian brought the battles to life to the extent that you almost felt you were there.
Mr Harvey Harrison
The entire Ethiopian experience, coffee making in a small hut, sitting with Gelada baboons in the Simian Mountains, the churches of Lalibela, and the exciting participation in Timkat was an experience not to be missed.
Mrs Suzanne Vincent
The knowledge of our safari ranger and tracker was amazing. To see the animals at such close range, yet in a natural surrounding was unbelievable. We saw a lioness stalk and kill her prey which was sad yet incredible, after all it is what happens for their survival. The elephant drinking out of our plunge pool outside our lodge was the icing on the cake. The food and menus at the Great Fish River Lodge was excellent. I cannot fault the accommodation, food, or the staff they were fabulous.
Mrs Margaret Lambelle
The landscapes of Namibia were more than I had imagined and the people so friendly. All your hotels and lodges were perfect but you left the best till last - The Africat Foundation! This was a truly memorable experience and I hope you keep it in your tours for others to enjoy. Once again, many thanks for a wonderful holiday. We will certainly use Cox and Kings again!
Ms Canning

Ms. Canning
The safari into the Serengeti will be remembered for our lifetime. Lions feasting on a buffalo kill, evening sunsets, staying in tented camps with the sounds of the wild around us.
Mrs Suzanne Vincent
The tented game reserve at Nkomwasi was sensational. The rangers were excellent in every way accommodation was well above average and the meals up to a very high standard. The second moment was the meal in the vineyard with the four course meal accompanied by wine with every course. The view was absolutely magnificent.
Mr David Buss
The tour was brilliant. The Villa Verdi is a find. Springbok Atlas are efficient and well organised. The Accommodation was all good – some of it unique.
Valerie Montague
The tours to the battlefields and the guides themselves were brilliant.
Mr Gordon Carter
There was no one inspirational moment as there were so many! I shall never forget our granddaughter's wow moment when she saw the first elephant so close to our vehicle at Shamwari Game reserve.
Mrs Penelope Cook
We are experienced travellers and always looking for something a little different. We thought Ethiopia Odyssey was beyond our expectations and to see so many different Unesco World Heritage Sites in one holiday was exceptional. The wildlife content was unexpected and to see so many different types during such a short holiday was surprising. Would recommend Cox & Kings to others and congratulate them for putting together our holiday - the literature and the tour manager were first class.
Mr David King
We feel very privileged to have gone on such a special journey and we cannot thank you enough for the care and attention you took in selecting our itinerary.
Mr Gait
We had a great holiday. So thanks for your help and advice in putting that together.
Mr. Hazelden
We had a marvellous time! Our driver Rarjed was brilliant at finding the animals and positioning the car just so. Seeing our first lion on the first day was so exciting. The view of the Masai Mara from Serena Mara lodge was an awe inspiring experience. Watching two male giraffes fighting was an unforgettable sight. As you can see it is impossible to pick the most inspirational moment, the whole trip was a dream come true.
We had the most wonderful time there thanks to your organisation.
Mr Ansar
We have had many holidays in different parts of the world, but this certainly ranks among the best. Thank you once again for your help and patience in organising it.

We planned the trip with Cox & Kings over an extended period and the whole experience surpassed anything that we could have imagined. We have never been treated so courteously, professionally and enthusiastically. It was truly a holiday of a lifetime.
Mr Tachauer
Truly the trip of a lifetime. From start to finish our itinerary worked like clockwork, which meant we were able to relax and enjoy ourselves very much. This is our second trip with Cox & Kings an we cannot recommend them highly enough. Thank you all very much.
Mr Gait
The birdwatching at Ambua and Karawari was world class. They have Joseph and Stephen at Ambua, and Chris at Karawari, who are THE experts in PNG, and are mentioned in the new bird book.
Mr Anthony Ray
Thanks for all your help in creating a truly memorable holiday.
Miss Spencer
Thank you for making our holiday both wonderful and memorable.
Mr Churchill
Many memorable moments but the best has to be the overnight cruise on Milford Sound on the Milford Mariner. It rained on the way to Milford Sound but it had stopped by mid afternoon and by early evening the weather was perfect. We went out on the tender in Harrison Cove and communed with the penguins on the shoreline as the sun went down - then back to the boat for an excellent dinner. The staff were friendly, knowledgeable and good fun. The scenery was, of course, spectacular.
Ms Ann Abraham
My wife and I had the most fantastic holiday. Truly the trip of a lifetime. From start to finish our itinerary worked like clockwork, which meant we were able to relax and enjoy ourselves very much. This is our second trip with Cox & Kings an we cannot recommend them highly enough. Thank you all very much.
Mr Peter W.D Gait
It's not possible to give one inspirational moment, so here's my top five! 1. Being selected to feed one of the wild dolphins at Monkey Mia 2. A fantastic day out with Sylia Mills looking at the wonderful wild flowers of the region. 3. Meeting so many friendly Australians on the AAT Kings coach trip, a great way to not only see Australia but also get a real insight into the Australian mind set. 4. Re-visiting the amazing Pinnacles with their weird rock formations. 5 Visiting Penguin Island on my last day, the first day the island was opened after the little penguin breeding season.
Dr Marilyn Kirby
A truly fascinating holiday discovering the astonishing beauty of New Zealand.
A wonderful holiday and very pleased with all aspects of the itinerary put together for us by Cox and Kings.
Mr Mark Hodgson

Apart from the beauty of Costa Rica as a whole, I really enjoyed the Panama Canal trip and then visiting the Miraflores Locks the following day. Having learned about it as a child, it was just great to experience it 'for real'. It was fascinating to see everything working in virtually the same way as it has done for the past 100 years! I found the the museum/information centre excellent.
Ms Merryl Graham
Difficult to choose! Seeing the beautiful colonial buildings, some beautifully retsored and others, often still inhabited, crumbling around us. Also, visiting the Monumento Ernesto Che Guervara and hearing the passion in our guide's voice as she explained about the battle of Santa Clara. My husband would say the old cars!
Mrs Jane Jowitt
Guides and staff excellent, friendly and went out of their way to be helpful.
Dr A Graham
Havana was definitely the highlight, an architectural and historic gem. In addition, it was a hassle free city, very clean and everything easily accessible. Historic buildings are beautifully and subtly illuminated at night. The people for the most part are friendly, helpful and courteous.
Mr and Mrs Taylor
I can't say that there was one specific moment - there were many. The country and the people were wonderful, despite their obvious poverty. Our tour guide Maria was first class, and went out of her way to make sure that everything went smoothly.
Mrs Judith Purssell
Among many, including crossing the walkways at Monteverde in driving rain and a strong wind, the real highspot was the visit to La Selva. We felt privileged visitors, had a superb guide and saw an amazing range of animals and birds within a remarkably short time. If only we had had longer there.
Mr Paul Langridge
Many inspirational moments in spotting wildlife of amazing diversity in the nature reserves and alongside the road, thanks to our hawk-eyed guide. I would also mention the wonderful swim on the beach at Manuel Antonio on the last full day of the tour. You'd have to go a long way to find a better sea-swim.
Mrs Fiona Anderson
Our trip to Guatemala was a great success. Thanks for organising such a great itinerary. There was plenty of contrasts, changes of pace etc to ensure there was always something of interest without being rushed around from sight to sight.
Ms Alexander
The city of Trinidad contained much of what was great about Cuba in a nutshell. It was lively, friendly, very photogenic with a history that went back over 500 years.
Mr William Kerr
The highlights were seeing the rainforest for the first time, the knowledge of our local guides was also amazing. Costa Rica has been the holiday of a lifetime for me…I cannot fault the service.
Mrs Tooley

Mrs Tooley
The riverboat trips were marvellous, both in Tortuguero and Los Chiles. Huge amount of wildlife and excellent local guides and drivers.
Mr Roger Piggin
The two highlights of the holiday were Tortoguero and Cana Negro. The wildlife was fabulous, and varied. The forests were beautiful. We were very lucky to see an enormous migration of vultures.
Mrs Geraldine Stevens
There were numerous, but certainly seeing Aztec and Mayan cities in real life, and quietly soaking up their atmosphere, constituted highlights of the tour.
Mr David Kennaby
Too many to mention. Loved the whole tour. Great informative guide, well planned, great sights and music.
Ms Angela Mindel
Visiting the cemeteries for the Day of the Dead celebrations [was inspirational]. We also enjoyed the visits to the Mayan tombs which were brought to life by the excellent guides.
Mr Brian Walters
We had a thoroughly enjoyable time and all travel connections worked perfectly.
Mr Ainsworth
We really enjoyed Trogon Lodge at San Gerado de Dota. Lovely location, friendly staff and excellent local guides.
Mr Colin Dickinson
We thoroughly enjoyed our visits to Havana and Trinidad. Trinidad in particular was small and colourful with lots of music and good restaurants. We had a dance at our morning coffee/cocktail stop which was fun and enjoyable. The thing we will remember most about our trip to Cuba was the music everywhere at all times and of course the cocktails!
Mr David Graham
We thought it important to let you know how much we enjoyed it and how well we thought it was planned…Thank you for organising it.
Mr Campbell
We were so impressed by the conservation and environmental policies of Costa Rica. An example to the world! The flora and fauna were the reason we chose Costa Rica and we were not disappointed.

The medieval walled city of Khiva and desert fortresses visited en route [were inspirational].
Dr Keith Curtis
The guide was the most impressive of all. She always responded to our individual needs and made the journey and tour very comfortable and enjoyable. She was a guide, a singer, a dancer, and above all a friend.
Dr Muhammad Rahman
Our first evening in Khiva was magical. We walked by ourselves in the almost deserted streets of the old city and felt transported in another world, with the beautiful mosques and madrassas rising in the dying light. There were many amazing moments during the group visits but I would pick the climb to the Zoroastrian tower of silence near Nukus, looking at the great Oxus river and thinking of the flow and ebb of the ancient civilisations and cultures that were built and destroyed over the centuries in this now forgotten heart of Central Asia.
Dr Mireille Levy
Standing in the Registan in Samarkand and marvelling at some of the most jaw-dropping and imposing Islamic architecture I've ever seen against a clear as crystal blue sky.
Ms Wendy Proctor
Registan Square in Samarkand - The sight was so extraordinarily beautiful it took our breath away, and we all stood silent for several minutes, just taking in the scene. I think this site is one of the wonders of the world.
Dr. Eva Simmons
Most inspirational moment - Khiva - beautiful and unexpected although the people came close: friendly, interested proud of their country. Discussing jewellery, children and husbands with ladies selling bread in the market, and not a word of a common language between us, but we communicated just fine!
Mrs Jane Laver
Bukhara: walking into the Kalyon mosque and seeing the huge tiled facades, the minaret and turquoise domes all set in the immense courtyard, in which we heard that Genghis Khan murdered the entire young male population of the city in the 13th century. Historic, tragic and beautiful all at once.
Miss Miranda Dawkins
I really can't really pick out one moment, all of it was wonderful. Our guide, Tahir, was marvellous. Very knowledgeable, enthusiastic and helpful.
Mrs Christine Gregory
The most inspirational moment was the first view of Registan Square in Samakand, which was the primary reason for our Uzbek trip and the overwhelming genuine friendliness of the Uzbek people.
Mr John Bourne
The beautiful buildings in Samarkand were awe-inspiring for me.
Mr Norman Young
I found Khiva fascinating. The hotel was very good and within a few minutes walk of the 'old town', which we first saw it lit by moonlight when we arrived and it was a stunning sight.
Mrs Judith King

The whole trip was very informative, enjoyable, not at all rushed, well co-ordinated and totally pleasurable.
Mrs Christine Muir
There were lots of highlights, but seeing the Hermitage Gallery in St Petersburg, with its room of paintings by Rembrandt, was magical.
Mr Charles Cox
There were many highlights on this tour but the tour of Delphi was excellent. With the back drop of the mountains, it was very peaceful and idyllic. The extension in Hydra was brilliant. It was a very relaxing and peaceful island and was ideal way to unwind before the main tour.
Miss Kerri Thomas
Travelling on the Moscow Metro and seeing the amazing decoration of the stations fulfilled one of my longstanding ambitions.
Mrs Nora Allan
All your arrangements worked well and we had a wonderful few days in Istanbul.
Lord Phillips
All your arrangements worked well and we had a wonderful few days in Istanbul.
Mr Phillips
Early morning walks around the Blue mosque and Hagia Sophia, before the crowds. Meeting Father Ian Sherwood. In general, becoming aware of the tragedies affected the disenfranchised minorities in the Middle East & Central Asia, and how they are related to their shared religious and cultural histories.
Ms Pamela England
Full marks!
Ms. Parr
I had a wonderful time on your Classical Greece Tour. It exceeded all my expectations. The itinerary was well thought out and included the most important sites of mainland Greece. The hotels were in excellent positions for exploring the sites and museums. Our tour guide, Marina, was amazing. Her personality was delightful. She was entertaining and her knowledge of the history and mythology of ancient Greece was truly remarkable; her passion for the places we visited brought them to life. It was a truly unforgettable experience. I had the best time ever! Thank you Cox & Kings.
Mrs Jan Enwright
I have nothing but praise for this tour. I was travelling with my elderly mother and we both had the most fantastic time. The group gelled very well and we all had similar interests. Our guide (Sami) was superb. His knowledge of the subject was boundless. The coach drivers were both superb especially Hassan who managed to negotiate the roads in an exemplary manner.
Ms. Christie
I very much enjoyed the talks by William Taylor and our guide Hamdi, who were both very knowledgeable. Istanbul is a buzzy place with great scenery, history and interesting people & visitors. To see the city and its surroundings placed in perspective was very insightful. I learned a lot, from Rev'd Taylor and Hamdi and also the other party members. I am looking forward to going back to Istanbul in the future.
Dr Michael James
I would like to tell you that it was a wonderful trip. Thank you for organising it so well.
Mr Boag
In spite of the torrential rain every minute of my stay in Bilbao, this was one of my dreams come true: I finally saw the Guggenheim Museum which I liked very much.
Mrs Sigrid Taylor
It is always inspiring to become acquainted with other cultures, and to see for oneself places known of through literature and other reportage media. Our experience of Russia was quite different from the present coverage in press. We were not particularly noticeable or significantly different from the generality of Russians. Perhaps the most pleasing moment was having supper in the restaurant of the National Hotel in Moscow, overlooking Red Square and St Basil's Cathedral. We couldn't have been positioned for a more iconic view, and the surroundings were sumptuous.
Ms Rosalind Lavington
It was a marvellous tour and a very good itinerary.
Ms Eamits
It's difficult to pick an individual moment. The whole visit was so exceptionally interesting, demanding, informative, thought-provoking... The boat trip on the Neva was dramatic and evocative, the view across St Petersburg (I felt I could see all the way to the Baltic) on the first evening from the hotel restaurant on the 9th floor, the Faberge eggs.... all the places were stunning in different ways.
Mrs Barbara Minovi
Really hard to pick just one. Predictably, the cathedral in Córdoba, the Alcazar in Seville and the astonishing Alhambra Palace complex in Granada, in terms of visits. The fragrance of orange blossom on the streets was sublime. The kindness and warmth of people we met.
Rev Pauline Shelton
The actual sites that we set out to see &nadash; Aphrodisias was a great surprise and Ehpusus was quite wonderful.
Mrs Siggers
The arrival in St Petersburg was more beautiful than we expected and was so different to Moscow.
Mr Stanley Wood
The astonishing moment of entering the Cathedral of Monreale and the drama of the golden mosaics. Stupendous impact.
Dr Jennifer Somerville
The content of the tour was excellent as were the tour leader and local guide. We very much enjoyed the experience and learnt a lot about the artists and times in which they worked. It was wonderful to visit an Italian stately home and have a private tour by the owner who was very kind and welcoming.
Dr John Saunders
The Cox & Kings Europe consultant who handled the bookings for our holiday was excellent and made the arrangements extremely efficiently in a pleasant and helpful manner.
Mrs Upton
The historical knowledge that Professor Robin Cormac, our UK guide, shared with us brought Ravenna alive.
Mrs Josephine Rednall
The phenomenal enthusiasm and knowledge of both our guides, especially Violetta in Moscow who was brilliantly informative, enthusiastic and could not have been better. We also thoroughly appreciated the knowledge of our guide Teddy in St Petersburg.
Mrs Meryl Deane
The tour leader/speaker, Colin Bailey, provided many an inspirational moment. He was truly excellent; knowledgeable, inspiring, passionate, very considerate and helpful at all times.
Mr Peter Newman
The trip overall was a great success, and our thanks go to you and your team for arranging a truly memorable holiday. We will never forget Wolf's Lair nor, of course, Aushwitz and Birkenau. Thanks again, and we look forward to travelling again with your company - indeed, we are in the throes of arranging a trip to India with you.
Mr and Mrs Harvey
The visit to Gallipolli was very moving and thought provoking. The cemetery at Anzac cove and the inscription of Ataturk's words will live in our memories for a long time.
Mr Gordon Warwick
The visit to the Moscow Kremlin and Armoury was inspirational. The walk around the grounds, the churches, bell tower, gardens, tomb of the unknown soldier followed by a visit to the Armoury was amazing.
Mrs Jacqueline Rule
There were so many highlights it is hard to mention just one. The visit to the gold treasury in the Hermitage was a highlight.
Miss Dorothy Betts
Walking in the snow at the bottom of the mid Atlantic Ridge, with the Eur-Asian tectonic plate on one side and the American plate on the other side of the valley. Also seeing the Northern Lights was an absolutely amazing, primeval experience, which ranked with seeing Wolves, Bears and Buffaloes in the wild in Yellowstone on a different adventure. Always wanted to do this, along with walking through a real Arctic storm, which we did.
Mr Philip Butler
Warsaw and Krackow were fantastic and nothing like expected. Auswitz ofcouse was a completely different experience but is something everyone should see.
Mr Terence Grace
We enjoyed it all. Kyrenia was a beautiful town but we were very impressed with the walking tours of Farmagusta and Nicosia.
Mrs Maureen Cooke
We had an outstanding trip and our travel needs were handled very efficiently.
Mrs Hess
We would like to thank Cox & Kings for making our 40th wedding anniversary such a memorable occasion.
Mr and Mrs Whitney
Your guide Turgay is excellent both in his knowledge and helpfulness and very pleasant and fun. The holiday was enjoyable and well worth while.

This was a fabulous trip from beginning to end with charming and attentive local guides throughout and wonderful accommodation. The dawn balloon ride over Bagan was particularly magical as was the opportunity to get very close to the fishermen on Inle Lake – a photographer's dream!
Mr Peter Bradbrook
We cannot fault any part of the holiday, everything ran as smoothly as it could. The accomodation and the tour guide were excellent and we would dearly love to travel with Cox & Kings again. One of the many highlights were the hotels which were stunning, as well as the trip in Ha Long Bay and the attention to detail. Many thanks for the room upgrades and little extras we received in recognition of our wedding anniversary.
Mr and Mrs Keith
We enjoyed every single minute of our holiday, which was one of the best we have ever had.
Mr V, Leicestershire

A highlight was the Burmese people, who were so friendly. The holiday was a marvellous experience from start to finish.
Mr. Saunders
As on any tour, the guides are vital to the smooth running and harmony of the tour. I don’t believe these holidays have highlights, they are all highlights from start to finish. Thanks for a great holiday.
Mr. Betchett
Everything went so smoothly, the tour was very well-organised and excellent value for money.

Excellent holiday and great hotels. Excellent guides and drivers as always. We always recommend Cox & Kings to others.

For me, the most inspirational part of my holiday was the hot air balloon flight over Bagan - it was brilliant and I would encourage everyone to book this. Balloons over Bagan provided excellent service and the whole experience is one I will never forget.
Ms Karen Hendy
Go before the world realises what a amazing places it is!!
Ms Irene Gregory
My wife and I had the most fantastic holiday. Truly the trip of a lifetime. From start to finish our itinerary worked like clockwork, which meant we were able to relax and enjoy ourselves very much. And BA upgraded us to Club World for return flight so we felt truly spoilt. Thanks for all your help - we are every impressed with Cox & Kings and would unhesitatingly recommend you.

Our tour in Mongolia was the most marvellous experience and a great adventure far exceeding expectations.
Mr & Mrs. Dewing
Our tour in Mongolia was the most marvellous experience and a great adventure far exceeding expectations.
Mr and Mrs Dewing
The contrast between high-tech Tokyo and the Bullet trains, and the tranquility and peace of the Rock Garden and the floating gate at Hiroshima. The two nights in the Ryokens were memorable experiences. We also deliberately chose to go in November to experience the Autumn colour, and we were not disappointed.
Ms Janice Murton
The entire holiday was excellent and it is difficult to single out any specific moment which was more inspirational than other moments/events.
Mr Robert Knox
The friendliness of all the people and the stunning countryside was what most impressed us. The cleanliness of everywhere from train stations to pavements is astounding.
Mr Kevin Garner
The highlight of the holiday was indoubtedly the visit to the Angkor Wat temple and the other temples at Angkor Tom; both the scale of the temples and the detail of the bas relief carvings were absolutely stunning.
Mr Douglas Hutton
The sheer difference in culture, the spread of the city skyline suddenly broken by the formal gardens and the cherry blossom!
Dr Bernard Riley
The terracotta army was outstanding . All the main sights – the Great Wall, panda reservation, the Three Gorges and Guilin were up to expectations.
Mr Simon Moffat
The unplanned and unexpected encounter with a traditional Burmese procession taking young boys to the monastery to become monks and girls to have their ears pierced. Half a mile long, it consisted of ridden horses, oxcarts, ponies & traps, elephants and motor vehicles, all festooned with flowers and gay decorations and accompanied by loud music. It was not in a tourist location and was by the locals, for the locals. Absolutely glorious.
Mr Jeremy Waters
The whole holiday was a fantastic experience, made especially so firstly by the fantastic guide, and secondly by the wonderful company of your other guests.

There were lots of high points - the Terracotta warriors, the pandas - but my wife's best moment was standing on the Great Wall, and reflecting on what had gone into building it. Mine was the spectacular scenery of the Goddess Stream during our Yangtse river trip.
Mr Andrew Slater
There were many inspirational moments each with their own quality. The tour manager, Garry, was quite outstanding and all the members of my party agreed that apart from the unique sights of China he was a major factor in making it a wonderful holiday.
Mr Stephens
We have recently returned from our honeymoon in Japan and just wanted to let you know what an absolutely fantastic time we had! Our guide was fantastic, the accommodation in Tokyo and Kyoto was first class and the ryokan on Miyajima Island was an amazing experience.

Varanasi is an assault on all senses - people, sound, noise smell, colour - and it is also a very spiritual place despite the huge crowds. Unmissable.
Mrs Christine Love
We would recommend this holiday to anyone wanting to visit India.

[Inspirational moments include the] dawn boat ride at Varanasi, walking out to see the Taj Mahal early morning and the lakes at Udaipur.
Dr Alan Watson
[The most inspirational moment was] when we finally arrived at the childhood home of my mother at Katerri Falls, south of Ooty in the beautiful Nilgri Hills tea plantation country. We now understand why she missed Southern India so much when she returned to England in the 1930s.
Mrs Charmian Bourne
There were almost too many highlights to single out just one. However, I would have to include the first sight of the Taj Mahal in any shortlist. There were so many other wondrous buildings. We also greatly enjoyed the trip to the local village in Jaipur as it gave us a better insight as to how the rural community live.
Mrs Gwendoline Wilkins
Going to Varanasi which is a unique experience - an amazing combination of devout faith coupled with the madness that is India.
Mrs Anneke Berrill
I am writing to say how much we enjoyed our trip to India...You were right in saying that we had a busy itinerary but we really enjoyed the whole experience. We appreciated your efforts in planning our journey and were particularly pleased with the choice of rooms and hotels you had arranged for us to stay in.

Having tea with a Maharjah. Lucky to travel at Holi time and enjoy the festivities.
Mrs Lynda James
The ordinary people of India were an inspiration in themselves with their poise, dignity and friendliness in difficult living conditions.
Mr Robin Ross
The Taj Mahal was fantastic, the people in India were overwhelming, they made me feel very humble.

Being on the Lotus Houseboat and the Neelshawr Hermitage after, they are amazing places. Pure luxury, nothing had been overlooked and the place was like being in paradise.
Mr Kenneth Phaure
Diana Driscoll educated us last year on Mughal Uzbekistan. Because of her we booked onto this Mughal India tour to continue our education. She is inspirational and enthuses us with her love of the subject. Everything about the tour was inspirational. If we have to choose just one thing.....it would be The residency at Lucknow. Also, the India based Tour Manager Madhav Das Rathmore was quite superb and liaised well with Diana, especially since this was the first time the tour had run and the first time they had worked together.
Mr Robert Mundell
Everything always works! If you want a holiday tailor-made especially to your requirements, then Cox & Kings has it. No substitute for discussing possibilities and what you might want with a consultant who has been there are also is aware of your requirements. In the end you get what you paid for.

I am writing to commend Cox & Kings for organizing such a successful tour of Sri Lanka. It provided a perfect introduction to a lovely land and insight into a culture very different to our own. Our guide, was an inspiration to us all, with his wide-ranging knowledge of country, history, culture, and specialist knowledge of many subjects. I am grateful to have enjoyed such a wonderful travelling experience and hope that it will not be long before I have the opportunity to travel again with Cox & Kings.
Mrs Barbara Rands
I am writing to say how much we enjoyed our trip to India...You were right in saying that we had a busy itinerary but we really enjoyed the whole experience. I had a wonderful holiday in Sri Lanka. It was the most amazing and unforgettable experience with my family. I also want to say a very special thank you to you for making such a big effort for my birthday and making our stay as pleasant as possible. Thank you too for the lovely gifts which I liked very much.
Miss Melissa Ng
I had a wonderful trip to India. It surpassed all expectations. From start to finish it was a flawless execution. The organisation was superb at all levels.
Mr Digges
I have longed to visit Gwalior fort and Bundi town since I saw pictures of both in an Insight guide to India over 20 years ago. Gwalior fort is spectacular - rising above the clean and organised town of Gwalior- it is breathtakingly majestic yet delicately beautiful with its stunning yellow, blue and iridescent turquoise tile work stretching into the distance along the perimeter wall. The interior was a surprise - incredibly well preserved in parts with exquisite carvings and evidence of sophisticated cooling and sound systems. Exceeded expectations! To finally see the romantically beautiful town of Bundi was a dream come true - a secret treasure trove of golden walls housing stunning artwork amidst crumbling ruins, Sadly neglected and in desperate need of Unesco intervention to save one of the most exquisite palace complexes in Rajasthan.
Mrs Julia Mitchell
I would particularly like to commend our tour guide, Yogesh who really made our holiday special. No request was too much for him. He had a brilliant knowledge of the history and culture of India, an hilarious sense of humour, endless patience and an insightful grasp of what we, as foreigners might find difficult, different, interesting or puzzling. Our grateful thanks to him.
Ms Lesley Wheeler
In the Udawalawe National Park the wild elephants, several females with two babies, came right up to the jeep and continued to feed beside us without moving away. It was lovely seeing the elephants at the orphanage too, but a sight I shall not forget was watching a young one standing at the bottom of the slipway, crossing his front legs back and forth in time to the beat of the music coming from a restaurant nearby. He was dancing for fun!
Ms Phyllis Babb
The visit to the Temple of the Tooth in Kandi made a deep impression on me. It was intensely crowded with devout Buddhists and I was in the middle of the crush when the doors of the casket opened, yet felt perfectly safe. I have a high regard for the gentle Sri Lankan people. I find tea plantations exceptionally beautiful, and am thrilled with the rich colours and patterns of the small fruit and spice stalls.
Ms Phyllis Babb
It was all incredible and the organisation was excellent. The knowledge of the guides made the holiday inspirational for we were taken back in time and had a glorious picture painted of the Moghul era and Rajput era. The guide for the taj mahal was inspired and we were caught up in the romance and historical truths. In Jaipur the Amber fort was described superbly as well as Fatehpur Sikri. The excellence of the Delhi guide has stayed with us into our long term memory. This is a standard of high scholarship and deeply engaging presentation.
Mrs Kiron Wilcox
It was our first time in India and we expected it to be thrilling, and it was. The sites were magnificent; even more amazing than we had anticipated, and we had a terrific guide throughout.
Mr Adrian Wright
Just about everything regarding the trip was absolutely wonderful.
Ms Annalouise Cronin
Myself and my wife Sue would like to thank Cox & Kings for a wonderful and extremely well managed holiday in India. My wife was, to say the least, a little apprehensive at travelling within India but the entire experience proved to be absolutely magical and without any drama, due to the organisation and efforts of your staff along the way. We now consider India to be the best destination we have ever travelled to in a lifetime of exotic holidays!
Mr Nicholas Sills
Our guide Bhavari added to our enjoyment of the Amber Fort by telling us all about the historical background and explaining his own views. Rattan our guide in Delhi was also excellent. He is 75 and traced the huge changes he has seen in India through his own life story.
Mrs Angela Southon
Our Private Journey trip to Nepal was absolutely wonderful. As a couple in our sixties, the trek was an experience of a lifetime. Although we did not reach great heights, we saw village life en route and enjoyed simply tremendous scenic views. Thank you very much for an extremely enjoyable holiday.
Overall, it was a real eye-opener on India - the place & the people - both in a good way. The Taj has to be the absolute highlight but many many other aspects were inspirational - it really is an Indian 'experience'!
Ms Sheena Ellwood
Seeing the Himalayas emerge from the cloud and trekking in the Himalayas was awe inspiring.
Ms Christine Smith
The Botanical gardens in Kandy and the Yala National Park were both outstanding.
Mrs Linda Green
The Deccan Oddessy was amazing. The food was fantastic, and the service was excellent.
Mrs Zoe Herbert
The evening visit to the Golden Temple in Amristar. It was our first night in India and the combination of beauty, religious solemnity and being very far from home was overwhelming. We knew our holiday was going to be a good one!
Mr Shaun O'Connell
The first inspirational moment was the sunrise on one side and Kachenjunga mountain on the other at the Tiger's Hill in Darjeeling. The second was at Paro in Bhutan, when we climbed to see the Tiger's Nest Monastery, though we only made up to the first view point.
Mrs Meena Sumarria
The first sight of the Taj Mahal was a really magical experience.
Mrs Sally-Ann Hart
The guidance and advice you provided were invaluable. Your choice of locations, itinerary were all spot on. Your efforts in preparing your colleagues for our arrival and your kindness throughout were all fantastic. We truly have returned with the rich taste of both northern and southern India we had hoped we would experience.
Mr Alfandary
The holiday was superb. Everything was perfect: nobody could have wished for a better honeymoon. Our driver was excellent and it felt very luxurious being driven around. He was very courteous and looked after us so well - far above and beyond the call of duty.
Mr John and Trudy Cornes
The most inspirational moment was when we reached the summit of Sigiriya and viewed the wonderful vista. I would urge anyone who visits Sri Lanka not to miss this. It is truly worthwhile.
Dr David Rainford
The opportunity to see the Taj Mahal, on two occasions, ie at sunset and at sunrise. This was all the more poignant for us as we saw the Taj Mahal, firstly, on Valentine's Day and, secondly, on my 60th birthday. It was perfect and well done for organising it on key dates!!
Mrs Wendy Emmott
The whole holiday was wonderful from start to finish. Two moments stand out in particular – first was seeing a mother tiger and her three cubs in the wild while on safari, second was a visit to the Taj Mahal.
Mr Robert McIlwaine
The whole India experience was amazing but nothing prepares you for your first sight of the Taj Mahal and sunrise.
Mr Tony Dellow
There were a number of outstanding moments, but visiting the Taj Mahal plus Jaipur and the lovely Ramgarh Lodge were definitely highlights.
Mrs Petrina Abbot
There were almost too many to mention; Holi festival was amazing, sights in Rajastan were just as I imagined them to be. I appreciated the visits to Bishnoi villages, a good opportunity to see rural life. I also appreciated the excellent room at the Taj Palace in Mumbai. As a single traveller I often find that the rooms I am given are inferior, despite the supplement charged; this was not the case on this holiday.
Ms Angela Carey
There were several inspirational moments - the visit to the temple of the Tooth in Kandy, the visit to Yala national park and the ascent of Sigirya. If I had to choose one it would be the leopard sighting at Yala.
Mr Niall Bowser
There were so many [inspirational moments]: the houseboat in Alleppey, the first sight of Kochi harbour at dusk, the Chola temples. An all-round excellent mix.
Dr Andrew Macfarlane
Visiting ancient buddhist temples, caves and ruins. I was inspired imagining so many monks dedicating themselves the the dharma teachings of the Buddha.
Mrs Anthea Murray
We are just returned from a magical trip to Sri Lanka. The whole trip was beautifully organised from end to end and the quality of the hotels was astounding. Cox & Kings have really excelled in this holiday and the Sri Lankan hotels were of the best. We greatly enjoyed the train trip out of Kandy – even more so when, in exchange for a small gift, we were both invited in to the drivers cab for the most spectacular section of the journey. Thank you again for a memorable trip, faultless from end to end.
George and Sue Langton
We arrived back to London yesterday, to find (of course) a huge pile of work to cope with, but we wanted to let you know immediately that your advice and assistance with the planning of our trip to India - combined with expertise and enthusiasm of the local Cox & Kings teams in Delhi, Jaipur, Agra and Shimla - resulted in a most interesting, rewarding and enjoyable experience for all three of us.
Lord Tyler
We have just returned from our trip to India and wanted to say a big thank you to you for all your help. You were terrific.
Mr Jarratt
We have previously received fantastic service from Cox & Kings and this time was no exception. Beginning with Roop Kumal our consultant, to the drivers and tour guides and Cox & Kings overseas managers, everyone was exceptional. Thank you.
Miss Janice Reeve
We would like to express our warmest gratitude for the Princely Tour of India that we have just experienced, and especially your care and attention supplied throughout the tour by representatives on your behalf.
John and Pamela Phelby
We’re just back from our trip to India, and it was fabulous. Our many thanks to you and everyone at Cox & Kings who made the trip smooth sailing and very enjoyable.
Mr Rose
Words could not describe the elation and incredible time we spent in India and Bhutan. No one could ever cap that. Thank you so much for all your efforts.
Mrs Smith
Yogesh, our tour guide really made this holiday for us. He was an excellent guide and he's a huge asset to Cox and Kings. He was very informative about life in India and was extremely knowledgeable. The most inspirational moment of the holiday was visiting the Taj Mahal. Somewhere I've been wanting to visit for years and it was even more magical than I'd expected.

All of the holiday was inspirational but seeing Petra for the first time at the end of the Siq was completely wonderful.
Mrs Jane Phillips
Bukhara: walking into the Kalyon mosque and seeing the huge tiled facades, the minaret and turquoise domes all set in the immense courtyard, in which we heard that Genghis Khan murdered the entire young male population of the city in the 13th century. Historic, tragic and beautiful all at once.
Miss Miranda Dawkins
I really can't really pick out one moment, all of it was wonderful. Our guide, Tahir, was marvellous. Very knowledgeable, enthusiastic and helpful.
Mrs Christine Gregory
Most inspirational moment - Khiva - beautiful and unexpected although the people came close: friendly, interested proud of their country. Discussing jewellery, children and husbands with ladies selling bread in the market, and not a word of a common language between us, but we communicated just fine!
Mrs Jane Laver
My most inspirational moment of my holiday was seeing Petra for the first time and glimpsing the Treasury through the Siq. I had waited a very long time to visit Petra and was not at all disappointed. The sunshine glinting on the sandstone made for a constantly changing view..
Mrs Anne Blaseby
On Wadi Rum I felt that I was either on the moon or on a filmset. The views and the feeling of space and wilderness were wonderful.
Mrs Anita Bird
Our guide Abdul really made our holiday. He brought Egypt to life for us.
Mr Christopher Doel
Petra was by far the most special place I have ever been to.
Mr Toby Joyce
Seeing Petra for real was wonderful, as was the Wadi Rum driving experience.
Mrs Elspeth Dick
The beautiful buildings in Samarkand were awe-inspiring for me.
Mr Norman Young
The entire trip was inspirational.
Ms Jennifer Streeter
The extraordinary beauty and variety of the temples, tombs and pyramids are beyond words.
Mr Simon Penney
The guide was incredibly well informed, gave us the most comprehensive briefings about the places we visited, the history and geography of Jordan, the politics and economy of Jordan, all in the context of the rest of the neighbouring Middle East & Central Asia, and really looked after us well.
Mr Stephen Williams
The most inspirational moment was the first view of Registan Square in Samakand, which was the primary reason for our Uzbek trip and the overwhelming genuine friendliness of the Uzbek people.
Mr John Bourne
The range and variety of sites and excursions was excellent. Wadi Rum was my favourite closely followed by my first glimpse of Petra through the Siq.
Mrs Mary Robertson
The sightseeing was fantastic - I really enjoyed this part. The sights really lived up to the expectations I had of it. The guides were very informative and provided an extra dimension to the trip. The hotels were excellent. The tour guides did their jobs well and always arrived on time, which I greatly appreciated.
Mr Khan Ullah
The whole holiday was excellent. I cannot think how you could improve upon the the service...this holiday was one of the best I can recall. Your ground agents at the airport in Amman for our return flight were excellent. They have obviously a great deal of experience and made the check-in procedure effortless.
Mrs Hilary Dunn
There were several 'wow' moments but possibly the most inspirational was the first glimpse of the Treasury in Petra as you come out of the Siq.
Mr Julian Ashby
This holiday was full of inspirational moments but the visits to Jerash and Petra have to be two of the top experiences one can have anywhere in the world!
Mrs Sheila Musiker
Walking into and around Petra was truly inspirational - two items of particular note would be the walk up to the 'High Place of Sacrifice' and the first view of 'The Monastery', given it's size and scale and seeing it immediately after a long climb..
Mr Gurpreet Dehal
We found the tour to be fascinating and we enjoyed every aspect of it. It was greatly enhanced by an excellent tour guide.
Mrs Jacqueline Mayne
All my life I was dreaming of seeing Petra and I finally managed to get there. Hassan, our guide had in depth knowledge and although I would have loved to spend a lot more time there he managed to show us a great deal. As a taster it was great and I will return on my own and probably stay for a week!! But as a whole every place we visited was a highlight.
Ms Suzanne Mader
An enjoyable and memorable tour which will remain the ‘experience of a lifetime’.
D J Barlow and H F Gregg
Being in the desert was the most inspirational - quite spectacular. Loved being taken out to the top of a sand dune to watch the setting sun. Particularly liked The View hotel - excellent accommodation and meals.
Miss Linda Spurr
Brilliant, you are wonderful, never had such an efficient travel consultant before. Very many thanks Shameem.
Mr.Hammerton
Driving up, down and through sand dunes to our tented overnight stay, with sand spraying in every direction. A never before experience and one which I thoroughly enjoyed.
Mrs Gwyneth Wood
I am writing to thank you for organising our excellent holiday in Morocco. All the accommodation was superb and our transfers went smoothly.
Mrs Welford
I found Khiva fascinating. The hotel was very good and within a few minutes walk of the 'old town', which we first saw it lit by moonlight when we arrived and it was a stunning sight.
Mrs Judith King
I just wanted to drop you a note to thank you for such a wonderful trip. I rate my holiday with Cox & Kings as one of the best ones I have ever had.
Mrs Marciano
I just wanted to say thank you to you for arranging my recent trip to Egypt. It was a wonderful holiday and I felt really taken care of from beginning to end. Your advice regarding the extra day was excellent and the upgrade to a pyramid view room worth every penny.
Mr. Patterson

Mrs. Eldridge
If we had to pick one [inspirational] moment it would be walking out of the Siq at Petra to see the Treasury. But to be honest there were so many amazing places it is difficult to pick one out.
Mr Christopher Clark
Jerusalem, Galilee, Nazareth and Bethlehem were definitely inspirational. We loved it all.
Mr John Haryott
Just to let you know that we had a fabulous time in Iran. Our carefully worked itinerary was nicely spaced and we were delighted with our female guide.
Mr Byrom
Our trip to Egypt that you organised ran like clockwork. Many, many thanks.
Mr Fishburn
Petra by candlelight was stunning.
Mr. John Scott
Pretty much the whole holiday exceeded expections, but the Roman site of Volubilis was much better than anticipated. The mosque in Casablanca was also a great visit. We hd not expected to be able to go inside because of Friday prayers, but this is possible between 0.00 and 10.00 am.
Mr Roger Rumbold
Registan Square in Samarkand - The sight was so extraordinarily beautiful it took our breath away, and we all stood silent for several minutes, just taking in the scene. I think this site is one of the wonders of the world.
Dr. Eva Simmons
Seeing the Great pyramid, Sphinx and the tombs in the Valley of the Kings.
Miss Ann Colbert
Seeing the treasures of Tutankhamen in the Egyptian Museum. The jewellery was exquisite in both detail and artistry and in wonderful condition for its age. Also loved the view from the ship as we journeyed along the Nile. Fascinating view of the way of life. Tombs in the Valley of the Kings also a wonderful experience.
Thank you for all your organisation, help and advice in the booking of our holiday to Egypt. Many thanks to your team, who have made our holiday such a success.
Mr Rowlands
The guide was the most impressive of all. She always responded to our individual needs and made the journey and tour very comfortable and enjoyable. She was a guide, a singer, a dancer, and above all a friend.
Dr Muhammad Rahman
The guide who accompanied our party throughout was outstanding. he was efficient, knowledgeable, informative, good humoured, patient and friendly and his English was excellent.
Mr and Mrs Moseley
The Hassan II Mosque, The Chellah Necropolis, Fes Medina and the Badia Palace in Marrakech were the highlights in a tour full of interesting and colourful experiences in a packed programme.
Mr Anthony Suggitt
The hotels were very well chosen, the levels of service excellent and our driver a delight to be with. Organising such trips is never easy and once again thank you for arranging a trip which we will never forget.
Mr Conway
The tour guide Ra'ed was exceptional. He described all aspects of the sites and many interesting facts about his country, it's history, geography, religions and more. We couldn't have asked for a better guide.
Mrs Patricia Stonier
The tour was consistently excellent in content, with new experiences each day. It was the overall joy of being in a country with friendly people, full of varied (and sometimes exciting) scenery, ancient forts, ultra modern mosques and even an opera house that we most remember. Our disappointment of not seeing turtles at Sur was compensated by seeing one in Muscat Harbour, diving and surfacing as it fed on the weed attached to the rocks.
Mr Clive Brooks
The tour was extremely well-planned. This was not my first visit to Israel but, this time, I visited places I hadn't seen before. The guide, Boaz, was very good. His explanations were clear and informative, and he ensured we saw what we should and that everything went smoothly. Not all guides put over their points as well, and should I consider a return visit, having him as a guide would be most encouraging. Much of the tour was inspirational but my highlights were Masada and the Dead Sea, and the Golan heights.
Ms Jean Baird
The trip you arranged for us was brilliant and everything you arranged not only ran smoothly but the quality of service was exceptional. Thanks so much for you patience and efficient help and for arranging a perfect itinerary.
Mr Rendle
The whole holiday was a superb experience and now a fantastic memory. We are currently planning our next trip and without a shadow of a doubt it will be with Cox & Kings again.
Alfonsina Monachino
The whole trip was a fantastic mixture of old and new with the guide and drivers providing superb service and knowledge. Several inspirational points of the trip including: the night turtle viewing on the beach, dune driving, the night in the desert, being able to enter the Bahla Fort and look around it in comparative isolation, the drive up Jabel Shams and the canyon, and finally, the archaeological dig in Salalah.
Mr Kevin Mann
There was not one defining moment. It was simply the gradual build up of excellent day after excellent day.
Mrs Patricia Morton
There were several inspirational moments - the obvious one was Petra itself, which didn't disappoint, but there were less obvious ones too; Little Petra was so atmospheric, the drive through Wadi Rum and the Bedouin lunch was excellent but perhaps the most inspirational was witnessing an impromptu dance and exuberant singing by school girls at Jerash, which obviously wasn't planned but give us a real feeling for the wonderful people of Jordan.
Mrs Sharon Snell
There were so many inspirational moments - all the major sights were so good to see with very few people.
There were so many wonderful moments. I think I enjoyed the most looking upon the 'Monastery' at Petra having climbed the 800 steps. At each place we had a wonderful time - the sunsets at the Marriott hotel in Petra. The camel and jeep rides at Wadi Rum. Snorkelling at the Red Sea. Floating in the Dead Sea. All very magical.
Mrs Stephanie Jenkins
This tour vividly demonstrated the benefits of using a reputable travel agent, without whom we would probably still be stranded amongst the riots!
Mr Hearsum
Visiting Petra - it was every bit as stunning as expected.
Mrs Stella Maxwell/
Visiting Petra - it was every bit as stunning as expected.
Mrs Stella Maxwell
isits to the Pyramids and Sphinx at Giza, Temples of Hatshepsut, Karnac and Luxor, and the Egyptian Museum at Cairo were a 'not to be missed' lifetime experience. The Mirage 1 was a clean and efficient boat with a colonial style and the staff were very attentive and friendly. Everyone was amazingly attentive, punctual and friendly. One of our best holidays ever. Really it was a great adventure - thank you Cox & Kings.
Mr Michael Sumpster
Walking down the Siq and seeing the Treasury opening in front of us. Then climbing all 900 steps to the Monastery.
Miss Margaret Sturmey
We are writing to you to say thank you for all your organisation, help and advice in our booking of our holiday to Egypt. Once again many thanks to you in particular and to your team who have made our holiday such a success.
Mr Rowlands
We enjoyed the tour of Lebanon very much and we are delighted we have been able to visit a country often war torn but were made welcome by charming people.
Mrs. Williams
We had a fabulous time in Iran. Our carefully worked itinerary was nicely spaced and we were delighted with our female guide.
Mrs Byrom
We had a fantastic time in Jordan. Our visits to the sites were thrilling, our hotels comfortable and our care at the hands of the local agents was both courteous and professional.
Mrs Raimes
We have just returned from a wonderful trip to Jordan. The content allowed us an unhurried glimpse into the past. Our guide, Sofian, was knowledgeable, patient and great company, an asset to your organisation. A memorable journey. Thank you.
Mrs Carole Hunt
We learned so much about the values, tastes influences and interests of a people that look directly into your eyes and respond with humour and interest. We haven't laughed so much in ages. This has been a truly life changing visit... Thank you once again for an amazing experience.
Mr and Mrs Phillips
We witnessed a society that values the family, respects differences and keenly observes old fashioned good manners. Thank you once again for an amazing experience.
Mr & Mrs Phillips

Easter Island was amazing, just as I expected. The first sight of the crater at Orongo was breathtaking
Ms Carol Gould
Loved the variety included in the holiday and the visit to Machu Picchu will never be forgotten.
Mrs Carole Wilson
One of the best holidays we have ever taken with several inspiring moments of which Machu Picchu has to be the top.
Mrs Angela Lawes
Seeing the citadel of Macchu Picchu in the flesh at close hand ranks with the awesome sights of the Taj Mahal, the Great Pyramids and the Treasury in Petra for instance. To this must be added the visit to see the Condors up close. Fabulous.
Mr Derek Lowdon
The holiday was very diverse and each day we had new and exciting experiences.
Ms Margaret Newton
The most inspirational moment was impossible to define - so many interesting and beautiful places including of course Machu Picchu.
Mr Gordon Claridge
There were too many 'wow' moments to single out any one occasion. We think the fact that Cox & Kings had organised everything and there was minimal hiccups so making the whole trip inspirational was a credit to you all. Many thanks.
Mr David Cowdry
Three equally moving scenes - the floating islands of Lake Titicaca, the town of Cusco, and Machu Picchu. The trip brought out the rich, and extensive, cultural heritage of Peru through the variety of places that our tour included.
Mr Iain Sim
To all your staff and those of your associates in Peru a very big and heartfelt thank you. The professionalism, support and guidance given throughout our tour were nothing but high quality and we would have no hesitation in recommending your tours to anyone.
Mr Stuart Jones
Visit to Machu Picchu. Absolutely magical.
Mr George Hunter
Visiting Machu Picchu was particularly exciting as the setting is so strange and unworldly - and its resident population of llamas is very beguiling! Seeing the sun rise over Lake Titicaca was also unforgettable.
Mr Charles Cox
Almost too many [inspirational moments] to choose from - Lake Titicaca and its islands, Colca Canyon, Pre-Inca terraces, Alto Plano, native craftwork, Machu Picchu, Native South American peoples and their history, customs, values and characters, being at Machu Picchu on my 67th birthday...
Ms Lesley Evans
Getting really close to the glaciers from the cruise ship was terrific.
Mr Richard Dobson
Going round the Grey Glacier in a boat and drinking a pisco sour with ice from the glacier (at least so we were assured!)
Mrs Alison Jamieson
Hard to choose between walking by the waterfalls at Iguazu and sitting listening to the jungle sounds in the Amazon rain forest.
Mrs Ruth Wilkinson
Just wanted to let you know that we had the most fabulous holiday in Brazil and much of it was down to your careful planning and attention to detail.
Miss Otway
Just wanted to say thank you so much for all your work and help with our trip to South America, it was the most incredible and inspiring experience for both my Mum and myself.
Mrs Nankervis
Macchu Pichu & Lake Titicaca were both fantastic experiences, but it was the services of our tour leader Miguel which made our holiday so much more enjoyable - he was patient, professional and very efficient.
Miss Jane Henderson
My first sight of Machu Picchu [was inspiring]. The emotions which I experienced were so powerful and surprising. An unforgettable moment I shall never forget.
Mrs Patricia Beeston
Many thanks for organising our South American trip, it was beautifully planned and executed.
Mr Banerjee
Our trip to Peru was the most exciting, interesting holiday I have ever had – in fact it was a life-changing experience.
Ms Lucas
Peru was definitely one of the highlights. On a tour such as the Grand Tour of South America there will be many highlights. One of the unexpected real highlights for me were the rail journeys in Peru. PeruRail are fantastic and the three rail journeys we took were amazing. Great fun, well organised and very good quality trains and staff.
Mrs Claire Lawley-Woods
Seeing Machu Picchu was still a wow moment even after visiting the other Inca sites.
Mr Mark Paterson
Some excellent memories from each of the areas in Chile we visited – Santiago, the Atacama Desert, the Lake District, Torres del Paine National Park, Puerto Williams and Easter Island. The two highlights were Torres del Paine and Puerto Williams – in the former you felt as if you really were at the bottom of the world, almost like the outback in Australia. The daily activities in Puerto Williams were excellent.
Mr Brendan Fitzgerald
Thanks for all your help that went into making this a wonderful holiday.
Mr Da Silva
The first sight of Macchu Picchu through the clouds was amazing. The descending cloud made a magical place all the more mysterious and mystic. Truly magical experience.
Mrs Yvonne Thorp
The floating islands on lake titicaca were impressive. The views at Machu Piccu and Rio de Janerio were fantastic.
Mrs Hilary Reid
The guide, Valentino, was very efficient, excellent with local knowledge, always pleasant and punctual; an essential requirement. Comparing the desert and Patagonia is like comparing chalk and cheese. All the places had inspirational characteristics. Food and wine were varied and of a high standard.
Mr Stephen Fidler
The high plains (Alto Plano) were fantastic to experience and to see the people who survived there. View down into Chivay was very impressive. Drive up to Macchu Pichu was hairy but well worth it - the views were breathtaking at the top. Train from Puno to Cusco was very very enjoyable. We were not looking forward to a 10 hour train ride but thoroughly enjoyed it. Peru Rail staff very well turned out and very helpful and service on train excellent.
Mr Roger Cockle
The Iguacu falls were probably the high spot, closely followed by Corcovada. The Manaus experience was very special too.
Mrs Vivienne Taylor
The incredible scenery, particularly of the Atacama desert and the Torres del Paine Nat. Park. Seeing volcanos from the air and then driving/walking around them was amazing.
Mrs Caroline Roberts
The trip to Machu Picchu was incredible. The time we had there gave us the opportunity to really get a feel for the place and take all the photos we wanted to.
Ms Raffaella Facchini
The visit to Easter Island was really the highlight of the holiday - an experience not to be missed.
Mr Timothy Marsh
The welcome and friendliness of the Chilean people coupled with their civilised attitude that is modelled on the UK, was inspirational. The scenery from the Atacama to Patagonia is just overwhelming.
Mr Derek Lester
The whole Explora experience really is something special and I think pretty good value for money. I was the only person doing the Travesia from El Chalten to Torres del Paine - it was fantastic!
Mr. Peter Kudirka
There were absolutely no points in the holiday where I felt anything less than ravished by the scenery and captivated by the people and places we visited.
Mr Anthony Suggitt
We experienced a wonderful holiday and a friendly group of travelling companions; it was good to be part of a small group with a considerate and efficient tour escort.
Mrs Brenda Everest
We have just returned from Peru - The Train to Machu Picchu tour. I am writing to congratulate you on this holiday. The hotels were first class and the travel arrangements were flawless. The local guides were knowledgeable and friendly and our local tour manager looked after us very well. It was all a magnificent experience.
Tom and Wendy Tasker
We have just returned from the most amazing trip to Peru. The highlight of the holiday was without doubt walking the Inca trail. What an experience. I wanted to thank you for all your help and advice. The itinerary you prepared for us was perfect.
