Dating from around the second century BC, the Western Wall, or ‘Wailing Wall’, is the last remaining relic of the Second Jewish Temple and is the most important Jewish prayer site in the world. Millions of pilgrims and visitors from around the world place notes with requests and prayers into its cracks. Tunnels beneath the Western Wall provide a glimpse of the various periods in the history of Jerusalem.
