The floating villages of Tonle Sap

| May 15, 2020

Tonlé Sap is south-east Asia's largest freshwater lake and one of the most productive inland fisheries in the world. It supports more than three million people, provides over 75% of Cambodia's annual inland fish catch, and is home to many floating villages. A visit to a floating village provides a glimpse into the lives of those living in this area and offers a contrasting experience to the temples of Angkor. Accompanied by a local guide, climb up into one of the stilted houses to see a how a fishing family live. With the guide acting as translator, you will be able to communicate with the villagers and gain an understanding of their unique lifestyle.
