Searching for wildlife

| May 15, 2020

With over 40 mammals, 30 types of reptiles and amphibians and over 130 breeding birds, Algonquin Park is a superb place to go in search of wildlife. It is possible to see some of this wildlife along the backcountry roads, however the low-lying wetlands tend to be the preferred habitat for many species. Some of the set walking trails pass by areas known to be popular with the park's wildlife. You might come acroos moose, white-tailed deer, beavers, black bears, wolves, gray jays, boreal chickadees, spruce grouse, indigo buntings, brown thrashers and wood thrushes. Share:
