Search for the Takhi

In Khustain Nuruu National Park, west of Ulan Bator, visitors have an excellent chance to spot the 'takhi' (Przewalski's horse), the world's last remaining species of wild horse. The reserve has successfully reintroduced the species to the area after it faced extinction. The animals are difficult to spot and sightings cannot be guaranteed, but arriving very early in the morning increases the chances of seeing the animals, and your expert local guide will know the best places to look for them.
