Full-day Tsitsikamma tour (private excursion)

| May 15, 2020

Tsitsikamma, a khoi word for ‘place of abundant sparkling water’, is a large region of outstanding beauty bordered by rivers to each side, the Tsitsikamma mountains to the north and the ocean to the south. Depart from Knysna to explore the national park, stopping at many of the scenic points and highlights along the way. Stops include the small village of Nature's Valley, a haven of tranquility and beauty, and Bloukrans Bridge, the highest bridge for bungee jumps in the world at 216 metres high. Continue up mountain passes and along river gorges, passing the massive Outeniqua yellowwood tree (nearly a thousand years old) to reach Storms River Bridge and the Tsitsikamma Coastal Nature Reserve, where the river and spectacular cliff edges creep into the sea. As a final stop, visit Monkeyland, where an experienced ranger will show you many species of primates as well as a large variety of forest-dwelling birds. This excursion can also be taken from Plettenberg Bay or Port Elizabeth.
