FD self-guided excursion to Iriomote Island

| May 15, 2020

Full-day, self-guided trip to Iriomote Island Iriomote is the second largest island in Okinawa, but as much of the island is covered with dense jungle and the population remains less than 2,000. The island is therefore still largely undeveloped, and makes for an interesting self-guided day trip for visitors from Ishigaki. Regular ferries run from Ishigaki port to Iriomote, and take approximately 30 minutes. One of the best ways to explore the island is to join a kayaking group and paddle upriver into the centre of the island, or board a river boat for a more relaxing adventure. There are also many jungle hiking trails, beautiful beaches and some superb snorkelling over nearby coral reefs. Share:
