Evening boat tour and Fisherman's Cormorant show

| May 15, 2020

The traditional practice of cormorant fishing still takes place on Guilin's celebratedb four lakes, which used to act as the city's moat system and are connected by the Li river and its tributary. The local fishermen stand on bamboo rafts lit by lanterns, and use their cormorant birds to dive into the water and catch their fish. The bird is prevented from swallowing the fish by a ring that is placed around the neck of the bird, then the bird is rewarded by the fisherman for its successful catch.
