Aurora borealis (northern lights) viewing

| May 15, 2020

The Northwest Territories are an ideal place to see the lights, with more than 240 potential aurora-viewing nights per year. The landscape is relatively flat, so the full display can be seen from different vantage points. The weather is also relatively stable, allowing for lots of clear nights. Sightings are possible between late August and mid-April, but the lights are at their best from December to March. Share:
