1-hour Zen Meditation class at Shunko-in temple (Shared excursion)

Shunko-in temple is located in the centre of the large Myoshinji temple complex in north-west Kyoto. The vice-abbot here is an American-educated Zen scholar, the Reverend Takafumi Kawakami, who is fluent in English and has made it his mission to welcome people of all nationalities to the temple. During this 60-minute class, you will not only receive instruction on the basics of meditation and experience it within the temple setting, but you will also learn methods to incorporate Zen philosophy into your daily life. You will also discover how Buddhism, Shinto, Confucianism, and even Christianity interact and function in Japanese society.
