Day 1 – To Bishkek: Fly overnight from London, via Almaty to Bishkek with bmi. (N)

Day 2 – Bishkek: Early morning arrival. Transfer to Jannat Hotel for 2 nights (including immediate occupancy). Morning at leisure. Afternoon sightseeing tour of Bishkek. (B, L)

Day 3 – To Lake Issyk-Kul: This morning, visit Chon Kemin Gorge then continue to the shore of Lake Issyk-Kul. Stay overnight at the Caprice Hotel. (B, L)

Day 4 – To Karakol: This morning, visit the prehistoric petroglyphs that lie around the nearby town of Cholpon-Ata, then take a boat ride on the lake. In the afternoon, drive around the northern lakeshore to Karakol. Stay for 2 nights at Hotel Amir or Green Yard Guest House. (B, L, D)

Day 5 – Karakol: This morning, visit the Djety- Oguz Gorge, then return to Karakol to see the wooden church and mosque. (B, L, D)

Day 6 – To Lake Issyk-Kul: Drive to Grigorievka Gorge before returning to Cholpon-Ata. Stay for 1 night at the Caprice Hotel. (B, L)

Day 7 – To Bishkek: Return to Bishkek. En route, stop at the village of Tamchy to see traditional felt-making and the Burana Tower complex. Stay for 2 nights at the Jannat Hotel. (B, L)

Day 8 – Ala-Archa: Morning visit to the nearby Ala-Archa Gorge. Afternoon at leisure. (B, L, D)

Day 9 – To London: Early morning transfer to the airport and fly to London via Almaty with bmi. (N)

Discovery Tour: This tour involves some long drives and, although roads are tarmacked, the condition of many roads in Kyrgyzstan is poor. This tour involves visits to several gorges where the ground is rough underfoot and a reasonable level of fitness is required. This tour is not suitable for those with walking difficulties.
