Day 1 – To Delhi: Fly from London to Delhi with Jet Airways / Virgin Atlantic. (N)

Day 2 – Delhi: Transfer to the the LaLiT New Delhi (or similar) for 2 nights. Morning at leisure. Afternoon tour of Old Delhi, including the Red Fort, Jama Masjid mosque and Raj Ghat. This evening, join your guide on a walking tour of Old Delhi that takes you through bustling alleyways and discover hidden monuments. (N)

Day 3 – Delhi: Morning tour of New Delhi, including India Gate and the viceregal residence, both fine examples of British Imperial architecture. Continue to the tomb of the Mughal Emperor Humayun and the Qutb Minar tower. Afternoon at leisure. (B)

Day 4 – To Varanasi: Morning flight to Varanasi. Stay at the Radisson Hotel Varanasi (or similar) for 1 night. Afternoon tour of Sarnath, the site of Buddha’s first sermon. This evening, visit the Dasaswamedh Ghats to witness the fascinating Ganga Aarti ceremony. (B)

Day 5 – To Khajuraho: Early morning boat ride on the Ganges. In the afternoon, fly to Khajuraho and transfer to the Jass Radisson (or similar) for a 2-night stay. (B)

Day 6 – Khajuraho: Morning visit to the Chandela temples. Afternoon at leisure. (B)

Day 7 – To Agra: Morning drive to the village of Orchha, the former capital of the Bundela dynasty. After lunch, continue to Jhansi and take the train to Agra. Transfer to the Trident Agra (or similar) for 2 nights. (B)

Day 8 – Agra: Early morning visit to the Taj Mahal. After breakfast, visit the huge Agra Fort and the tomb of Itmad-ud-Daulah. Afternoon at leisure or optional excursion to Akbar’s Tomb at Sikandra (payable locally). (B)

Day 9 – To Jaipur: Drive to Jaipur via Fatehpur Sikri, the deserted 16th-century red sandstone city built by Emperor Akbar as his capital and abandoned just 15 years later. Continue to Jaipur and stay at the Trident Jaipur (or similar) for 2 nights. (B)

Day 10 – Jaipur: Morning tour of the ancient palace of Amber Fort. Afternoon visit to the City Palace and the Jantar Mantar astronomical observatory. (B)

Day 11 – To Jodhpur / Rohet: Full-day drive to Rohet via Jodhpur. Visit the magnificent Mehrangarh Fort and the imposing Jaswant Thada at Jodhpur. Continue to Rohet and stay at Rohetgarh for 2 nights. (B, D)

Day 12 – Rohet: Morning at leisure. After lunch, take a 4x4 safari to visit the Bishnoi tribal villages. (B, D)

Day 13 – To Udaipur: Drive south to the lake city of Udaipur, visiting the exquisite Jain temples at Ranakpur en route. Arrive at the Trident Udaipur (or similar) in the late afternoon for a 2-night stay. (B)

Day 14 – Udaipur: Morning tour of the City Palace and the Jagdish Temple. In the afternoon, visit a miniature painting studio to learn more about this traditional art form of Rajasthan. (B)

Day 15 – To London: Transfer to the airport and fly to Delhi to connect with the Jet Airways / Virgin Atlantic flight to London. (N)
