Standing before the altar, they focus on a subject of concern while shaking a container of numbered sticks. When a stick falls out, they give the number to one of the numerous fortune-tellers who tells them what the near future holds. Participants can also shake sticks or opt to have their face or hand read. Continue to the Bird Market, a fascinating open-air park with stalls selling and trading all types of domesticated birds. Beautiful bamboo cages, seeds, and bags of grasshoppers and worms are also sold here. The Chinese hobbyists are particularly fascinated by song birds and birds that can speak. When having breakfast in restaurants or meeting friends in a park, they will quite often take their feathered companions along. Finish at the Jade Market which is packed with dealers selling all manner of carved jade including bangles, earrings, ornaments, and intricately detailed pendants.

The tours begins by taking the steep funicular tram up to Victoria Peak. From the peak there are great views of the skyscrapers of Hong Kong Island below with Kowloon and the mountains of the New Territories in the distance. You can also see south and west over the South China Sea towards the outlying islands of Lantau and Lamma. You will then be taken by car over the twisting roads of the south of the island towards the harbour of Aberdeen. You will be taken on a sampan through Aberdeen harbour where families still live on Junks amongst pleasure cruisers and fishing boats. The morning will end in Stanley with a chance to wander through the market or to relax in one of the many restaurants and bars.
