Portugal Tailor-Made Holidays

Country Overview

Ponta de Sao Lourenco, Madeira

Overview

Portugal has an old-fashioned charm, with its many picturesque villages and medieval castles. The two largest cities, Porto and Lisbon, offer many attractions for a long weekend, whilst others are attracted by the long sandy beaches of Portugal's coastline.

What to see

Porto and Lisbon are great places to explore on foot, with both have excellent restaurants and a lively nightlife as well as picturesque neighbourhoods and wide plazas. Beyond the cities, Portugal's scenery ranges from vineyards to dramatic windswept coastal scenery. The southern coast offers an excellent place to relax on pristine beaches.

When to go
You can visit Portugal all year round, but the best season is in the summer months from June to September. If you visit between Februrary and April the weather is very pleasant and you can experience the Easter festivals and Carnaval.
