Often overlooked compared to its southern neighbour, the Turkish region of the Cyprus has numerous historical attractions dating to pre Roman times. The modern day history should not detract from one of Europe's best preserved tourist destinations.

When to go
Cyprus has an ideal climate all year round. The summer months of June, July and August are hot and attract the majority of the tourists but some of the best times to travel are in the low and off peak season when the weather is ideal for exploring or just laying on one of the numerous un-spoilt and uncrowned beaches.
