What to see

Paris is undoubtedly one of the the world's great cities, capturing the hearts and minds of visitors for centuries. Small enough to explore by foot, go out in search of the wide tree-lined boulevards, Notre Dame, the Eiffel Tower, the River Seine, chic cafés, Centre Pompidou, the Louvre...

Bordeaux is at the heart of one of France's most famous wine regions and has the largest concentration of 18th century buildings in Europe. Other legendary wine regions in France include the Loire Valley, Champagne and Burgundy regions.

Meanwhile, Lille is home to the Charles De Gaulle Museum and the Fine Arts Museum, and also has many small boutiques, museums and markets. Europe's largest fortified citadel, which commands magnificent views over the Pyrenees can be found in the town of Carcassone near Toulouse.
