Drive to Potosi, one of the highest cities in the world at nearly 4,100 metres, and take in the remarkable architectural heritage founded on the wealth of the silver mines. Continue across the Altiplano to Uyuni, which lies on the edge of the Salar de Uyuni, the world's largest salt lake. Stay 2 nights at a salt hotel such as Luna Salada. Full-day drive across the high desert to San Pedro de Atacama in Chile via Lagunas Verde and Colorada and the Sol de Mañana geysers. Stay at Poblado de Kimal.
