This evening, make your way to the railway station and board The Canadian for the 3-night VIA Rail train journey across the prairies to Jasper in the Canadian Rocky Mountains. Today is at leisure to explore Jasper before joining a shared evening wildlife excursion. During the tour, you may spot bears, elks, coyotes, wolves and moose. There will also be the chance to learn about the wildlife and their mountain habitat. (N)
Travel by coach today along one of North America’s most scenic highways, the Icefields Parkway. En route to Lake Louise, join a shared Ice Explorer excursion on Athabasca glacier and walk on the Glacier Skywalk. On arrival in Lake Louise, stay overnight at Deer Lodge. (L)
Travel by coach today to the mountain town of Banff, passing the scenic Bow valley en route. On arrival, stay 2 nights at Banff Caribou Lodge, which is located in the centre of this alpine town. (N)
This morning, join a shared tour of Banff, including visits to the Hoodoos rock formations, a gondola ride to Sulphur Mountain and the Tunnel Mountain Drive for panoramic views of the surrounding mountains and valleys. Afternoon at leisure. (N)
Transfer by taxi and board Rocky Mountaineer this morning for a scenic rail journey to Vancouver, stopping en route in Kamloops. On board, travel in the glass-domed SilverLeaf carriage. During the journey pass through the Spiral Tunnels in Yoho National Park and Rogers Pass in Glacier National Park. Arrive in Kamloops and transfer to your hotel* for 1 night. (B, L)
Today, continue your journey to Vancouver on board the Rocky Mountaineer. Follow the Thompson river, passing through Rainbow
canyon with its cliffs striped with pinks, greens and greys, and finally travel through the farming region of Fraser valley, arriving in Vancouver in the late afternoon. On arrival, take a taxi transfer to the Metropolitan Hotel Vancouver for 2 nights. (B, L)
