Greatest Outdoor show on Earth’. Enjoy
pancake breakfasts on the street,
parades, concerts, barrel racing, bareback
horse riding and bull riding as the whole
town celebrates cowboy culture and
history. After the show, continue on a
self-drive exploration of the spectacular
scenery of Alberta, visiting Banff and
Jasper en route.

Arrive into Calgary and make your own way to
the Delta Calgary Downtown for 3 nights. (N)
Over the next two days you will have entrance to
the Calgary Stampede grounds. This morning,
make your way to the grounds to enjoy the
entertainment on offer. After lunch take your
reserved seat in the stands to watch the cowboys
compete in various events, including bull riding
and wild-horse racing. (N)
Travel back to the grounds this morning to soak
up the atmosphere. In the late afternoon take
your seat to enjoy the thrill of the Chuckwagon
Races, in which teams compete in wheel-to-wheel
racing. This will be followed by the Grandstand
Show, with an impressive firework display bringing
the event to a close. (N)
Collect your hire car and drive along the Trans-
Canada Highway. Pass the spectacular Canadian
Rocky Mountains before arriving into the alpine
town of Banff. On arrival, stay at the Banff
Caribou Lodge & Spa for 2 nights. (N)
Day at leisure. Wander through the small
town and explore the local area in your car.
Alternatively there are a range of optional
excursions, such as a cruise on Lake Minnewanka,
a helicopter flight over the Rockies or guided
hikes that can be pre-booked. (N)
Spend the day travelling along the Icefields
Parkway with suggested stops including the
turquoise waters of Lake Louise and the
impressive Athabasca glacier. On arrival in Jasper,
stay 2 nights at The Crimson. (N)
Day at leisure. You may wish to book an optional
cruise on Maligne lake where you can learn about
the history, geology and wildlife of the region
while drifting past spectacular scenery. (N)
Take your time to drive slowly back along the
Icefields Parkway and look out for wildlife on the
roadside. Stay overnight at Banff Caribou Lodge
& Spa. (N)
Drive the 90-minute journey to Calgary and
return your hire car at the airport before a flight
home, or continue your holiday in Canada. (N)
